Boy Scouts Were Pressured by Corporate Sponsors to Change Policy on Gays

Pressure from corporate sponsors may be the critical factor in a decision by the Boy Scouts of America to change policy to include homosexual scouts, volunteers and leaders.

When a representative from BSA met with Frank Page, president and CEO of the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee, to discuss the proposed change, Page was told that BSA is "wilting under pressure from some of their corporate sponsors ...," Page explained in a statement to The Christian Post.

The Human Rights Campaign, a pro-gay rights advocacy organization, told BSA's corporate sponsors that it would downgrade their "non-discrimination ratings" if they continued to give money to BSA, according to NBC News.

According to a review of corporate giving to BSA in 2010 conducted last September by The American Independent, 23 of the top 50 corporate foundations gave at least $10,000 to BSA. Those sponsors included Bank of America, Intel, UPS, U.S. Bank, Verizon and Wells Fargo. The largest donation in 2010, $700,000, came from Intel. Some donations were directly from the company. Other donations were through matching funds programs in which company employees choose the charity and the company would match a certain amount for every dollar given by the employee.

The New Jersey Star Ledger reported today, in an editorial supporting the Scouts' decision, that Intel announced last September it would stop donations to the Scouts unless it stopped excluding gays. A month later, pharmaceutical giant Merck followed suit. UPS announced last month that it would no longer give to BSA because of its ban on gay scouts, volunteers and leaders.

My opinion:

For over 100 years the BSA has had character, integrity and have stood absolutely firm in holding moral values, honoring God and country. And now are being bullied by the militant homosexual movement to eradicate a century's old tradition that could very well destroy the foundation of this wonderful organization.

As a parent of two boys, you had better believe I would be pulling them out of the BSA, because I would not want them around a scoutmaster that, more than likely, would be proud of his homosexual nature and I sure is hell would not want my kids going on camping trips with men who are attracted to other men, especially young men. NO... I am not claiming all homosexuals are pedophiles, but I would NEVER take the chance of endangering my kids or subjecting them to this lifestyle.

Why are homosexuals so bound and determined to infiltrate every god-fearing, organization? Let them start their own and leave this one alone.

My opinion and I stand by it.

MY REVIEW:  Where to begin... first I have to say this book was VERY well-written. Once I began I wasn't even sure how I would begin my review, there is a lot to share.

First, what would it be like for all Christians and White people to be hunted down and annihilated by....(well, you'll find out, I don't do spoilers) from existence because of their unwavering faith in Jesus Christ? And English was no longer spoken but Farsi and Spanish? Imagine America being ruled by the strict and unforgiving cruelty of living under Sharia Law? This book describes what it would be like to live under those severe circumstances where stoning people to death was a natural occurrence. ALL women are forced to work outside the home and be slaves to their male relatives, male friends. They are forced to wear the burka and hijab. We get a close perspective on how women are truly second-class citizens. Reading, writing, learning is prohibited and punishable by death, aka stoning.

Imagine, no more internet, only the elite are allowed to own and use cell phones, most modern technology is wiped out, because no one knows how to use computers, etc; food is scarce and is mostly rice, tortillas, beans or old bread. Scary, huh?  Plus, buildings, roads are in ruin, only those with passports can travel.  

The preview of the book focuses on the daughter, Denisa, but the main character whom you grow to be fond of is her father Nicholas, aka Nick or Nicky. We see things under his perspective and his relationship with his headstrong daughter, whom you grow to love.

I ABSOLUTELY loved this book. It just gives a very frightening perspective of what would happen if the whole world was ruled under Sharia Law.

There he majored in Political Science with a focus on International Studies and Politics of the Contemporary Middle East, with concentrations in Sociology and Economics. A short time ago, Iran 's Supreme Leader Grand Ayatollah Ali Khomeini urged the Muslim World to boycott anything and everything that originates with the Jewish people.

In response, Meyer M. Treinkman, a pharmacist, out of the kindness of his heart, offered to assist them in their boycott as follows:

"Any Muslim who has Syphilis must not be cured by Salvarsan discovered by a Jew, Dr. Ehrlich. The Jews are NOT promoting brain washing children in military training camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause maximum deaths of Jews and other non-Muslims.

The Jews don't hijack planes, nor kill athletes at the Olympics, or blow themselves up in German restaurants.

Obama gun plan meets resistance from Republicans on Capitol Hill

President Obama's sweeping plan to address gun violence was met Wednesday with swift and stiff resistance by gun rights advocates and conservative lawmakers, setting up a tense debate that will be held on the airwaves, in congressional hearing rooms and in communities across America.

The package proposed Wednesday is the most comprehensive in decades. The president called for a new, tougher assault weapons ban and a 10-round limit on magazines, as well as legislation to bar the possession of armor-piercing bullets and require criminal background checks for nearly all gun sales.

Separately, he approved 23 executive actions while calling for additional funding to address mental health and school security.

The movement comes in the wake of last month's school massacre in Connecticut, where 20 children and six adults were killed.

"If there's even one life that can be saved, then we've got an obligation to try," said Obama, joined at the White House by four children who wrote to the president following the Newtown, Conn., tragedy.

But several lawmakers said the president's proposals in large part would not have prevented a shooting like the one at Sandy Hook Elementary School. They accused the president of glossing over potential factors like the entertainment industry and the country's mental health system, making clear that the legislative proposals could face an uphill climb.

"Nothing the president is proposing would have stopped the massacre at Sandy Hook. President Obama is targeting the 2nd Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens instead of seriously addressing the real underlying causes of such violence," Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said. "Rolling back responsible citizens' rights is not the proper response to tragedies committed by criminals and the mentally ill."

Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, said the proposals would merely invite "drawn-out court battles."

"Instead of a thoughtful, open and deliberate conversation, President Obama is attempting to institute new restrictions on a fundamental constitutional right," he said.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry, in a written statement, said: "Guns require a finger to pull the trigger. The sad young man who did that in Newtown was clearly haunted by demons, and no gun law could have saved the children in Sandy Hook Elementary from his terror."

But both sides of the debate were preparing Wednesday for a drawn-out national debate. The National Rifle Association is preparing to launch a major ad campaign and has already started running one ad. The group said Wednesday it would work with Congress on a "bipartisan basis" but that "attacking firearms and ignoring children is not a solution to the crisis we face as a nation."

The NRA said: "Only honest, law-abiding gun owners will be affected, and our children will remain vulnerable to the inevitability of more tragedy" as a result of the administration's plan.

Spanking children...

I am aware that there are many people, conservatives and liberals alike that oppose the spanking of children and than there are those that fully support it.

I believe that children do require discipline and no I am not talking abuse where a child is bruised or punished so severely that they are truly traumatized and become fearful of their parent. 

I believe a spanking on the bottom is sufficient. The spanking must fit the crime. 

From pure observation with kids in my own church, on the streets, mall, theaters and even just grocery stores I see spoiled children getting away with wretched behavior that would have NEVER been tolerated when I was growing up.

For example: 1. One scene in a house I was visiting, the 3-year-old boy threw the biggest fit, yelling, and screaming and on the floor because his sister had a blue plate and he wanted it and wouldn't stop until he got his way. And the parents finally got tired of his tantrum and instead of disciplining their son they took his sister's plate away from her and forced her to get another plate, even though she had already begun eating off the plate.

I would have spanked him and made him sit down and eat his food or punish him without dinner and put him to bed.  They punished their daughter, by taking away her food and plate.

What would you have done in this scenario?

Example 2: At Wal-Mart, many shoppers could here a kid screaming at the top of his lungs that he wanted something out of the shopping cart,  I guess it was donuts?  I just happen to run into them in an isle. He kept on and on and on and so what did the mother do?  She said, 'FINE!" and proceeded to open up the package and gave the kid what he wanted.  He got his way, by exhausting his mother with his fit.  

I would have taken my kid out of the cart and gave him firm spanking in the bathroom. And then put the item back on the shelf.

What would you have done?

Example 3:  Kids disrespecting teachers, their parents, grandparents etc. I have seen it, so much that I am shocked that they actually cuss at their parents in stores, etc.  My mother probably would have popped me in the mouth. I know because one time, I called her a "bitch."  Let's just say I never did that again. And I have NEVER spoken to any adult like that. I learned to honor all of my elders and to give them the respect they deserve.  Yay! To my mom!! For standing her ground and teaching her rebellious daughter she was NOT about to put up with my bad attitude or manners.

What would you have done? If some kid cussed you out? Your kid or someone else's kid?

I have a lot of scenarios I could come up with, but I believe I would take up a lot of time.

My opinion:  Children need direction and good parenting. They do not need their parents to be their "friends" or their "pals."  Parents should NEVER give into a tantrum or bribe them to behave. I won't put up with that. And not to brag, but every single person that has ever met my two boys or had them spend the night at their house have told me that they are very well-behaved and VERY respectful and are a joy to have over. They even help out with chores.

My boss thought it was wonderful that my youngest son (10) "Wolfie"  said, "yes, ma'am" to her when he spoke to her on the phone when she asked him a question. It actually surprised her. 

My boys have been taught the bible, the Ten Commandments and know that they will be punished for bad behavior, talking back, etc. I have never put up with temper tantrums. 

Now there is one very important aspect to spanking and/or disciplining.  I am constantly telling my boys that I love them, and hug and kiss them a lot and the reason they get punished is because of their actions. If they choose to misbehave, talk back, etc. They made the choice to do so and they will suffer the consequences, one thing I have learned, take away their electronic devices. I can compromise on the spanking.  It just depends on what they did.

Gay troops ousted under DADT to get back pay

The federal government has agreed to pay $2.4 million to dozens of gay troops who were discharged and denied full separation pay under the pre-2011 “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, according to a new court settlement.

The class-action lawsuit was spearheaded by the American Civil Liberties Union and filed in 2010 on behalf of about 181 gay troops who were honorably discharged for violating the military’s ban on gays serving openly in uniform.

The government agreed to provide full back pay, or an average of about $14,000 per former service member, according to the settlement announced by the ACLU.

Service members typically are entitled to separation pay when leaving the military. For example, someone separating at the pay grade of E-5 after six years of service would be entitled to about $19,000 cash.

For years, however, the Pentagon maintained a policy of granting only half the standard separation pay amount for troops who were honorably discharged for being open about their sexual orientation.

Among the plaintiffs was Richard Collins, a former staff sergeant in the Air Force who served for nine years until he was discharged in 2006 under “don’t ask, don’t tell.”

“We gave all we had to our country, and just wanted the same dignity and respect for our service as any other veterans,” Collins said in an ACLU statement.

Collins was stationed at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., when a co-worker saw him kissing his boyfriend in their car while stopped at an off-base intersection.

According to the settlement, the government will directly contact all troops affected by the lawsuit. Only troops discharged since 2004 are eligible due to the statute of limitations on civil claims.

First of all they were paid while they were in service and that should be their compensation.  They earned their pay while they were serving.  I appreciate and honor them for their service.

However, every single person that enlisted in the military during the time the "Don't ask, Don't tell" policy was active were fully aware of the consequences should they be caught engaging in something that was strictly forbidden. 

They broke that protocol when they decided to engage in their homosexual activities. It was their choice to make and the tax payers shouldn't have to pay them diddly-squat for their erroneous decision to break protocol, whether on base or off.  

It is unjust, and quite frankly unfair, to the tax payers to have to pay them when they weren't even serving. They made their choice and should have to live with the consequences of their actions. I do not believe they should be rewarded for breaking the rules, plus, they were HONORABLY discharged.  

What more do they want?  They are lucky that they received honorable discharges, because the US military didn't have to grant them that favor.

This is unbelievable.

This is a bit long, but I thought it would be interesting to share. I have seen people who pretend to be Christians or behave as they were but in reality they couldn't be further from God.  

I know a few people like this and this shed a lot of light and truth.  Let me know what you think?

Are there demons in this world? Yes. Can true Christians be demon possessed? No. There is not one instance in the Bible where Jesus or his disciples cast demons out of true believers. In fact Jesus tells us we have all power over demons.

"Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Luke 10:19

How can something we have power over, turn around and possess us? It can't. However, there are examples in the Bible of people being demon possessed who may have been saved at one time, but who are now spiritually lost. Judas, one of Jesus' own disciples is an example of this. The Bible actually says the devil entered into him.

Luke 22:3 "Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve."

John 13:27 "As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him."

Judas is a prime example of someone who can appear to have it together spiritually, and can actually have severed their relationship with Christ and be involved in the evil forces of this world to the point of possession.

A Christian who has a relationship with Christ, and has not denied Christ or turned to another gospel other than what God teaches us in His word, has the protection spoken of in Luke. This doesn't mean true believers won't be attacked. While we cannot be possessed by demons, we are still subject to the temptations of the flesh.

Peter had many problems that people who believe Christians can be demon possessed would say can only be resolved by having demons cast out of him. However, Jesus told Peter that the devil desired to have the opportunity to "sift" him like wheat. Then He prayed that Peter's faith in Jesus would not fail and that after he came through the temptation, he would have knowledge he could use to help others weather the temptations of the devil (Luke 22:31,32).

The difference between Peter and Judas is that Jesus prayed for Peter, but He did not pray for Judas. He only told Judas to be quick about what he had decided to do (betray Jesus). Judas had crossed a line in the spirit realm that Peter hadn't crossed, which opened Judas to demon possession.

Christians whose faith is in Christ can be attacked, depressed, oppressed, and tempted, but if we resist the devil, he will flee from us.

James 4:7 "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

Romans 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

Jesus does not violate man's free will. He is pictured in Revelation 3:20 as standing at the door, knocking, waiting for the door to be opened so He can come in. If God, who is all-powerful, cannot violate man's will, demons certainly must honor man's will if they know what the Bible says and follow it. The devil will try like crazy to open that door, but it is ultimately up to us whether we let Satan in or not.

People will often use personal experiences to substantiate claims that Christians can be possessed instead of using the Bible as the ultimate authority on the subject. As a result, they try to cast out works of the flesh thinking they are demons. Until we are given our new bodies and are living eternally with Christ, we will always have to contend with our sinful nature. Through prayer and the help of the Holy Spirit we can persevere and overcome these attacks. It is important to not become so demon conscious and so focused on warding off attacks that we forget about Jesus. It is through Him that we have power over evil, so making Christ and his teachings the center of our lives will naturally give us strength. It is when we fall away from our faith in Christ that we are in danger.

Saying you are a Christian does not necessarily mean you are saved.

Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my father which is in heaven."

There are many people in this world who go to church every Sunday, tithe as they are supposed to, have the right friends, and are good at bragging about their righteousness and the works they perform in the name of the church. Unfortunately, some of these same people can be heard saying things like, "I believe all paths lead to God. It doesn't really matter if you believe in Christ or Buddha as long as you do good things". They read the right Christian books, and read their Bible from time to time, but when it comes right down to it, they deny the saving grace of Christ, they do not believe what the Bible says, and they, willingly or not, encourage others to follow false prophets and religions. These people open all kinds of doors for Satan. They put out the welcome mat, make a pot of coffee, and tell the devil to come right on in. It is these "Christians" who, like Judas, can be possessed by demons, who will be attacked relentlessly, and who desperately need to believe in the Bible and have a right relationship with Jesus Christ. If only these people could see that God promises us power over the devil and his minions, they need only accept it and no longer turn their backs on it. It is the believer's job to share this with them.

I'M BACK!!

Hey everyone, I am back home, as of last night.

 

My dad is still with us!  Praise God! Miracles never cease!!

 

He is a fighter I will tell you that. The doctors have been amazed that he has survived this long, but we know God hears prayers.  However, the doctor treating him informed us that he will never leave ICU and his kidneys are not going to get any better, etc.  His heart is what caused all his organs to start shutting down. Today they are going to run a painless test to see if surgery is an option, if not, they have given my dad six months to live, that's all.  His heart is severely disease. I trust in God's Will.

 

I spent almost every waking moment with my dad with little rest and it was worth it. He has such a wonderful personality and all the doctors and nurses just adored his optimistic attitude and how he loves to joke around with them, even through the pain, and discomfort my dad kept his spirits high. He has such an awesome personality. He makes everyone laugh.

 

No one thought he was going to make it, which is why I left so abruptly, they basically informed us that we would be coming home to a funeral but God had other plans and daddy is still here fighting the good fight.  He still does his daily prayers and devotional, 3x a day, which I got to enjoy with him while my sisters read them to him. 

My last night in El Paso, I was blessed to be completely alone with him for hours helping the nurse take care of him and read scriptures to him.  It was the hardest thing saying goodbye to my dad. I cried all over him. His poor head was soaked with my tears. :(  Wow! That was soooo.... hard.

 

So right now, he is in God's great hands.

 

Thank you for the prayers, God worked great miracles!  I wish I could share a lot more, but know God truly heard.

 

Whatever happens now is in the Lord's hands and I will trust in Him.

It feels good to be back, my boys missed me!! Lots of hugs and kisses. But I realized how much I missed my hometown and did NOT want to leave it. Had REAL Mexican food, oh yummmmm..... And they got snow today!  Sweet.

I'll tell you all one thing I noticed, my allergies and sinus problems disappeared in the dry desert air. 

A lot happened but this would be a book.  

I am so happy and sad at the same time.
