Once again the Obama's go to Hawaii while America struggles

Residents Alerted to Obamas' Hawaiian Holiday Plans

BY MALIA ZIMMERMAN - KAILUA, OAHU - Residents living near the beachfront homes where President Barack Obama and First Family vacation with their friends every year since 2008 were alerted on Monday to some specifics of the Obamas' holiday vacation plans.

The report delivered to residents living along the ocean and canal that surrounds the multi-million dollar homes at Kailuana Place where the President stays, informed them of restrictions that will be implemented for 20 days beginning December 17 and running through January 6.

In a matter of weeks, Kailua residents will see the familiar street barricades fronted by U.S. Secret Service agents and Navy Seals and the U.S. Coast Guard stationed in canal and ocean waters.

The President, who spent some of his childhood years in Hawaii, brings his wife, two daughters, Sasha and Malia, with dog Bo in tow, each holiday season. They settle into the small town community known for its spectacular sparkling beaches, warm turquoise ocean, rolling surf, country shops and restaurants and friendly people.

The homes where they stay are just a two-minute drive from Kaneohe Bay and the Marine Corps Base Hawaii, where the Obamas and friends can access private white sand beaches and military workout facilities.

Kailua Beach

While many residents welcome the First Family, others are disheartened by the restrictions put on air, water and road travel while the President and family are in town, especially because it is the holiday season and many families on vacation want to use their boats or surf and paddle in the welcoming ocean waves fronting the Kailua homes. In addition, the President's caravan of at least 22 vehicles including an ambulance can easily overwhelm the community that typically has single lane streets.

Adding to the controversy surrounding the President's visit is the cost of the trip.

With the staff, special forces, local police presence and equipment, the President's visit adds up annually to at least a $4 million vacation courtesy of the Hawaii and federal taxpayers.

While the President and his friends pay for their own rental homes, taxpayers pick up the cost of security and waterfront housing for the Secret Service, Navy Seals and Coast Guard as well as staff accommodations at a plush beachfront Waikiki hotel.

TRAVEL: $3,629,622

The biggest expense is President Barack Obama’s round trip flight to Hawaii via Air Force One.

A Congressional Research Service report released in May 2012 said the plane typically used by the President, a Boeing 747, costs $179,750 per hour to operate. The U.S. Air Force has listed the cost of travel as high as $181,757 per flight hour.

Travel time for Air Force One direct from Washington D.C. to Hawaii is about 9 hours or as high as $1,635,813 each way for a total of $3,271,622 for the round trip to Hawaii and back.

The cost for USAF C-17 cargo aircraft that transports the Presidential limos, helicopters and other support equipment to Hawaii has never been disclosed in the years the President has traveled to Hawaii. However, the flight time between Andrews Air Force Base and Hawaii is at about 21.5 hours roundtrip, with estimated operating cost of $12,000 per hour. (Source: GAO report, updated by C-17 crew member). The United States Marine Corps provides a presidential helicopter, along with pilots and support crews for the test flights, which travel on another C-17 flight. That is $258,000, not including costs for the 4 to 6 member crew's per diem and hotel.

Moana Surfrider Resort

The rentals are fronted by the ocean and backed by a canal. So, the taxpayers must cover the costs for housing U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Coast Guard and Navy Seals in beach front and canal front homes around where the President stays.

Last year, that added up to about $200 per bedroom per day, or $21,600 per average home for a nearly three week period, with special forces renting at least 7 homes. Security arrives ahead of the President costing taxpayers about $176,400 for the length of the visit.

The President’s staff and White House Press Corps typically stay at one of Hawaii’s oldest and most elegant hotels, the Moana Surfrider. Besides its stunningly beautiful view of Waikiki, and its traditional Hawaiian architecture and decor, it is one of the most pricey hotels in the state and government rates are not available during the holiday season. Rooms start at around $270 but can cost as much as $370 a night for an ocean view before Christmas, and climb much higher around the new year.

A conservative estimate with rooms at $270 (excluding a 9.25 percent Transient Accommodation Tax and a 4.712 percent General Excise Tax on each bill, meals, internet charges and other charges) means the taxpayers are covering more than $129,600 in hotel bills for some two dozen staff.

LOCAL TAXPAYER COSTS: $260,000

Local police are paid over time for the President’s visit, which has historically cost Oahu taxpayers $250,000.

The city ambulance the accompanies the President 24 hours a day through his entire visit is about $10,000 to city taxpayers.

UNKNOWN COSTS

There are several costs the White House annually refuses to release, citing security.
For example, the President’s security usually rents an entire floor of an office building in Kailua on the canal during the president’s stay.
There are security upgrades and additional phone lines to several private homes where Obama and friends are staying. That includes bullet proof glass installed, home security systems disabled, new security measures put into place and additional phone lines added.
There is the cost for car rentals and fuel for White House staff staying at a Waikiki Hotel.
And there are additional travel costs Secret Service and White House staff traveling ahead of the President.

The total cost (based on what is known) for a 20-day round trip vacation to Hawaii for the President and his family and staff and security is more than $4 million.

Hawaii Reporter annually has requested details on the cost of the President’s trip, but the White House will not release any figures, citing security concerns. A spokesperson has maintained the costs are "in line" with other presidential vacations.

Hawaii Reporter has sought to determine the cost of vacations for the current president and last two presidents but the Government Accountability Office referred Hawaii Reporter back to the White House spokesperson.

Wow! This is absolutely despicable. People are still suffering from the effects of Hurricane Sandy. I have friend that has been volunteering almost every weekend handing out food, water and aid to these poor people.

I don't know how many Americans are out of work and can't afford to put decent meals on their tables, they are losing their homes, and barely can afford to dress their kids, but the OBAMA'S go on another lavish vacation that the tax payers have to fork out.

My solution. Make those that voted for him foot the bill. They wanted him as president, let them pay for these lavish vacations. I sure as hell don't want to pay for it. I would love to pay for my own family to enjoy a long vacation.

This only proves how inconsiderate and heartless, not to mention selfish of this man and his family are to abuse his position and spend money Americans just don't have and shouldn't be forced to pay.

And to those that refuse to stop talking about President Bush, most of his vacations were at his ranch.

And one last thing. Their vacation is during Christmas time, not only are they stealing from Americans but taking away the rights of the locals there that shouldn't have to make room for this scum bag and his family to enjoy themselves while others cannot. As far as I know, the beach, the ocean and roads should be for everyone and not shut down just because the "royal family" is there.

I am so sick and tired of the Obamas' it's-our-turn-now sense of entitlement.

Hear, hear!

Now, I don't begrudge the First Family going on vacation. But why the hell can't they use Camp David instead of racking up all these bills on the taxpayers' backs?

AOW, exactly!! Amen, sister!

Once again, this brave man, Barack Obama, is so willing to sacrifice the public interest for personal gain.

The Obama's also happen to be multi-millionaires. It makes no sense for them to be welfare queens also.

It's stressful living on the public's dime, being waited on hand and foot. They obviously have earned this vacation...

Once again wingnuts have to squeal when the President takes a vacation.

He'll still have fewer vacation days and tax payer's money spent than Bush.

The regal family on the move again. Next we will be required to donate gold bullion to the Obama retirement program. The kids are cute and not responsible - but Barack and his spouse are an embarrassing example of "Pelosi-ism". Is there no shame left?

George W. Bush was set the presidential record for most vacation days. Bush was not only on vacation more than any other president. He spent more money on non-official travel than any other president in American history. As president, George W. Bush used Air Force One to fly to his ranch in Crawford, TX for vacation.

Flight time one way from the White House to Crawford: 4.5 hours
Cost of one way flight: $805,500
Roundtrip cost: $1,611,000
Total cost to taxpayers of Bush’s vacation trips to the ranch: $124,047,000

As your Head of State the president has a right to travel as such and thus will get all the protection, status and luxury that he requires. If he choses to go to Hawaii then that is fine as well since it is still, the last time I checked, a part of the US. That you have such a dispersed territory on this globe is simply your own logistical problem.

Liberalmann has saved me the trouble to remind the writer of this item that Obama still does not go anywhere near the costs of the Bush presidency in terms of costs. Thus there is no logic in complaining or have at least the self-respect to have a big go at Bush for his expenses first.

It is a sad fact that the US is not Cuba nor anything like a real Marxist-communist State and thus people have the right to continue to spend their entitlements, go on holidays and not just pack up in grief or some self-obsorbed solidarity with those that are suffering.

Leticia, if you feel the need to sell your computer, tv and not go on holidays because people are still suffering on the East Coast, then go do it but do not assume that anyone else has to - you still believe in freedom right?

AOW,s typical rant telling how the President must/should/has to take holidays at Camp David is a good reflection of how out-of-touch she usually is....

Damien Charles

dmarks said...

Liberal and Damien completely failed this one. Bush is not currently in office abusing his power to soak the taxpayers for massive luxury travel. Obama is.

dmarks said...

The only person "out of touch" here is the out of touch multi-millionaire in the White House who soaks the public for his extravagance as if we don't have a debt problem.

Until we have a budget surplus, Camp David should be it, or let him pay for his own travel.

dmarks said...

AOW: Obama is in charge and living large. Because he can. It's the golden rule: those who make the rules get the gold. His concept of "public service" means, how can the public serve him? He is one who asks not what he can do for his country, but asks instead what his country can do for him. He's looking out for Number One, not us.

The leftists here who defend the wastseful extravagance of the privileged ruling elite would do well to remember leaders like Vaclav Havel who lived humbly.

dmarks yet again wishes to be democratic unless it does not suit his own agenda.

It has everything to do with Bush and to say otherwise is being hypocritical. Bush spent more, he therefore set the standard and simply because you cannot still fathom that your fringe view was not accepted by the American people then simply you will do whatever you can to put all the blame on Obama.

Get real. My objective on this blog from day one is to point out the hypocrisy and base arguments on logic.

I am in fact centre-Right in my political view and I would have loved to have supported a centre-Right Conservative candidate for the GOP, but simply put there was none and Obama was the only logical choice. I like his foriegn policies I do not like his economics. However, he should be judged on facts and not on fringe far-right smeers.

I will find you the item from the Hawaiian journal that points out the economic boost to the coastal town that Obama visits - just another point of reality that is ignored. Or how about the item that Obama's preference for Hawaii is also a boost to the State as a whole that often feels ignored.

Facts and reality, dmarks, you may wish one day to involve them.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Most of the complaining about presidential vacations stems from the fact that the commenters here, and in particular, dmarks, see no redeeming qualities in President Obama; therefore, something as uncontroversial as a well-earned vacation during the Christmas holidays becomes an opportunity to bash the president and his family for doing what every president and his family have always done. When it was GWB vacationing on the government's dime, they probably were quiet as little Christmas mice about it.

Mr. Obama cannot be blamed because his home state is Hawaii, which is across the continent and rather far out in the Pacific.

What is puzzling to read here are the mean-spirited remarks that find fault with President Obama for not taking his family on vacation to where THEY believe he should go.

These are the very same people who would howl in outrage at the idea of anyone in authority suggesting where THEY should spend their vacations but feel perfectly comfortable in trashing the First Family for choosing the President's home state to enjoy their holiday.

Yes, we taxpayers pay for his and his family's vacation as we have for EVERY president. And I believe they earn it.

No president is really "on vacation" anyway, since the affairs of state are always with him, and he must always be ready to address any emergency, foreign or domestic, every day, even on vacation.

That the president and his family vacation in his home state where other members of his family will gather is no reason to stir up such mean-spiritedness.

Maybe in this season of giving, the commenters here could find it in their hearts to remember whose birthday they will celebrate in a few weeks and bring some goodwill and charity, for those they love as well as those they do not love, into their hearts.

Afterall, that is the Christmas spirit and message, isn't it?

dmarks said...

Yes, aren't we so "mean-spirited", Shaw, for begrudging such massive largesse to someone who is already a multi millionaire?

And yes it was bad when Bush did this. But why bring him up? He s not in charge. Perhaps you bringing him up proves it is all about partisanship to you, not principle.

I see the point of your mention of the season of giving: give to the rich and powerful. Your mention of it came toward the end of an argument in favor of this.

And by the way, the facts continue to elude you. His home state is Illinois.

Anonymous said...

dmarks is a closet hard-line marxist, that is becoming evident.

That someone is rich or poor (or whatever) and takes on the role as President makes no difference whatsoever, unless of course your a hard-line marxist, in which since you are wealthy you thus must give up the conditions of service given to that job. Thus if the Obamas had no extra income they should get it all and if they are like, say Romney, he should provide everything out of his pocket because he is a billionare.

Frankly speaking, 'largesse to someone who is already a multi-millionaire' is simply a foolish phrase and Shaw has explained it perfectly.

That Obama's home state is Illinois or Hawaii makes no difference. As long as it is an American State, the President is entitled to go there.

As I said, dmarks, you may one day wish to add some facts and reality to the thread, it would be really nice....

Shaw Kenawe said...

Oh for goodness sake, dmarks. You know very well that President Obama was born in Hawaii and grew up there, and that's what I mean by "home" state.

This is a red herring for you to use to attack Mr. Obama.

Had Mitt Romney, the richest man to have run for the presidency, been elected, he most certainly would NOT have used his own money to fly his family to his home with the car elevators in La Jolla, California. Nor should he.

Your contention that the president should use his own money to transport his family to his native home state for a well-deserved vacation, with all the security needed because of the unprecedented death threats against President Obama, is absurd and demented.

He was elected, TWICE, by the American people, and we reasonable citizens do not expect our Commander in Chief and Chief Executive Officer of the United States to pay for his and his family's vacations.

You and the others here are p.o.'d because Mr. Obama was re-elected. This is a useless exercise in niggling pettiness to assuage your outrage at what happened on Nov. 6.

And sound very, very silly.

Jersey McJones said...

Leticia, every year the Obama's have vacationed in Hawaii, his hometown state. Starting last year, they personally took on a rental instead of the old "Winter White House" for a variety of understandable reasons.

Last year, the cost to the tax payer was 4 mil. Actually, relatively low. And that was 2.5 mil over the year before, but only because of the new logistics.

This vacation will also cost very little to the tax payer, and it's his home state, and he does have a family, and he does have a very important job, so why shouldn't we give him some slack?

I'll take you cons a lot more seriously the day you complain about a vacationing CEO who's just moved a factory from Ohio to China.

Leticia said...

Dmarks, Yep, don't you just love it? He and his family can very well pay for this vacation, but why, when they can use taxpayer money.

Silver, yeah, they have worked so hard....good grief!! That's all they know how to do.

Lib, you just had to bring up President Bush, didn't you, couldn't resist, typical. Sorry, but the Obama's have spent more money on vacation than any president. Your argument is null and void. They stayed in the states, and didn't need about all those body guards, stop people from living their daily lives, had beaches closed, staying in the most expensive hotels. Sure...Pres. Bush spent all that money on his ranch.

Anon, no we cannot blame the children for the selfish and greedy behavior of their parents, but they are learning from them. Which is rather sad.

DC, since you are not an American and have NOT witnessed the devastation of the hurricane, maybe should keep your self-righteous attitude to yourself. This nation is in a fiscal crisis, and you would know that if you lived here. Furthermore, and this isn't really any of your business, but pc is considered antiquated and obsolete, my cell phone is the most generic phone you can buy. I do not live in a huge fancy house, our vehicles are from the year '96. So keep your yap shut before you judge and ridicule. I'll tell you right now. President Bush, or even Mitt Romney would have stayed and done all they could to assist those people who have suffered great loss in the storms. But apparently, you believe the Obama's deserve the vacation, so why don't you GIVE them YOUR money and pay for their vacations if it makes you feel better. I would rather use that money on my children and their future. Get real.

dmarks, exactly. Nothing wrong staying stateside. They don't need to be wasting our money.

Shaw, as compelling as your argument is. Please tell me, if it was you and your loved ones in the areas most devastated by the last historical storm. Would you not want YOUR president to stay and do something to assist? All he cared about was his election and taking photo-ops. Darn straight! I don't support this man and I never will. Human life, apparently, in all forms mean little to someone who is self-absorbed. I do not think this was the best time to take a 3 week vacation that cost taxpayers millions of dollars.

Yes, it is the Christmas Season, so maybe he and his family should have spent that money on the needy and those that are homeless right now? Or is that being "mean-spirited" as well?

And do yourself a favor and research the generosity of Romney's before you begin to bash them as well.

What has Obama done for this nation? What? I didn't see him working in the cold giving out food and blankets, I don't see him welcoming home our troops, I see him taking away their jobs, yeah, what a generous guy. Open your eyes!

Shaw Kenawe said...

Letitia,

Exactly where did I "bash" Romney?

This is what I wrote:

"Had Mitt Romney, the richest man to have run for the presidency, been elected, he most certainly would NOT have used his own money to fly his family to his home with the car elevators in La Jolla, California. Nor should he."

Where is the "bashing" in that statement?

You have shown us all that your statements about the Obamas having a vacation are based on your dislike of them, not on anything else. George W. Bush had his Christmas vacation while the people of New Orleans were still hurting from Hurricane Katrina. No reasonable person would expect the president of the United States to forego his needed vacation with his family because of a natural catastrophe that he personally cannot do a thing to remedy.

Your harangue about the president taking a vacation is absurd. And, thankfully, reasonable people do not agree with you.

How can you not call that bashing? Romney probably is one of the most generous of the wealthy. And I do not believe he would have used $4 million on his family in a time of crisis.

President Bush just didn't pack up and go on vacation he stuck around to do all that he could do. If anything blame the Democrats that were in charge before Hurricane Katrina hit and the aftermath.

Furthermore, if I recall. President Bush did spend time there and he did receive $121 billion in recovery efforts. He didn't just pop in and out and go on vacation. He made sure people were being taken care and had shelter and food, hence the relocating of citizens to safe housing in other states that took them in. And one more thing. I was a volunteer and I saw first hand what those people went through. Bush cared.

I have yet to see anything positive come from the Obama's. I see that they enjoying using tax payer money. And as I have said, if you want to pay for his vacations go for it, but I shouldn't have to.

Damien said: "As I said, dmarks, you may one day wish to add some facts and reality to the thread, it would be really nice...."

You can't name one fact I got wrong. And I am sticking to reality, as opposed to the really loopy ideas that have been presented in defense of this bad, wasteful policy.

Fact wise, we can look at how Shaw got Obama's home state wrong. She did, not me. Yet you bashed me for her whopper. Then there is the claim that "Bush set the standard", when there is a complete lack of evidence of Bush setting anything at all in terms of White House travel offices or Obama vacation decisions since he left office close to four long years ago. Or Damien's claim that no center-right person was in the US election, when in fact one ran and got half the vote. I suppose one can excuse Damien's ignorance of American affairs. I too, am ignorant of the Presidents and candidates in far parts of the world. But unlike him, I know my ignorance, and won't make wild and laughable statements.

Then we have some really loopy ideas:

Such as Shaw's weepy plea for us to be generous with our gifts (money taken from us at gunpoint, really) for a multi-millionnaire... all part of Christmas spirit.

I could imagine Shaw as a bell-ringer. Opposite of Salvation Army, in front of a store, asking for donations to give to the very rich, who suffer so much during the holiday season.

And there is Damien's argument that taxpayer subsidy of millionnaire vacations as being a good way to help Hawaii's economy. There are so many better ways to do this.

Well, we aren't being forced at gunpoint to pay for this vacationing CEO.s trip. Unless, it is, of course an auto exec or other beneficiary of Obama's corporate welfare policies. Then we have a right to complain: it is our money.

And of course we have a right to complain about the massive tax burden, forced unionization, and over regulation that forces companies to move factories overseas.

Yeah, of course, yet more weeks of leisure for a rich and privileged person who has already had plenty during the year is so much more important than helping the nation. And there is nothing a President can do, whatsoever, in helping direct FEMA, National Guard, and other resources ti help in any disaster. Glad you have your priorities straight, Shaw.

As with Shaw's arguments, the subject is clear. Regardless of personal vandettas and bais the facts remain the same.

The subect is the COS (Conditions of Service) given to the President.

1. The POTUS is given transport, security and a level of status befitting a Heado of State. When he goes on his vacation he can go within the nation's boundaries (Hawaii is part of that).

2. Wherever he goes, so does the Exectutive of the government and thus he is never really on holiday.

3. Apart from present locations, his travel actually provides some financial stimulus, local media interests and even (yes really) local pride and recognition.

The second issue is mute, the costs, as a number of people have wrongly (and naively) decided to go down the Marxist route (and still call themselves democratic) by saying that since the Obamas have wealth that they should somehow foot the bill or do a little less (which means foot the bill if they want the standard they were entitled to).

That argument fails on a number of simple logic tests. Does the personal wealth of a President make any difference or is it the entitlements of the job. Say we call the President a civil servant, does a civil servant's salary or COS change because they have personal wealth? No.

The third subject is in regard to should the President do less or stay put because there was a past natural disaster and people are suffering still.

The answer to that is two fold. The first is that the President did his share in the disaster, just ask his critic NJ Governor Christie. Secondly, when does a "crisis" or "disaster" technically finish? Thirdly, and frankly the cold-hard fact, life goes on and after the first week or so, people with money are simply going live their lives at the standards that they are either entitled to or can afford.

In summary, the Obamas have in fact done what they are "entitled to" if you sish to change the entitlements then have them changed but never whinge about them being used. Is his wealth a factor? Only if you are a Marxist (ie dmarks). Was his travel now at this time inapropriate? I would say not.

A last comment:

I find it childish and infintile that supposive adults will continually assume that because a number of us do not agree with the comments by the author that we are "leftists" and "support Obama no matter what". In my case both are wrong and it is a rather childish throwback when frankly some here have no actually factual or logical arguments to retort with.

I am more than happy to acknowledge and debate actual facts, not just wild-eyes rhetoric which I consider should be left on the high-school courtyard.

dmarks,

Romney may well be a moderate but as long as the party and backers are not, he is disqualified. That is also WHY he lost the election.

I am a firm believe that the fact that the national vote was so close was a show that the people would have been more than happy for a quality alternative.

None was given, thus we could argue that it is not Romney's fault but in fact the GOP's inability to be cohesive with its radical element (Tea Party and Norquist) having too much of a say.

"Snatching defeat out of the hands of victory" comes to mind.

Oh, before you start saying that I am out of touch, have no idea about American politics, I have basically quoted two-thirds of the majority of centrist-swing-voting pundits and analists.

Neither is radical. You use this word for mainstream, sound movements without any regard to meaning. Once again. The pledge to Norquist, for example, is merely a promise not to engage in very bad destructive policies

Damien said: "the costs, as a number of people have wrongly (and naively) decided to go down the Marxist route"

Criticizing the amount of money that the ruling elites steal from the people against their will is anti-Marxist in nature, as it is against the power of the ruling elites.

(and still call themselves democratic)"

You seem to think that submitting to authority is "democratic". You are mistaken: and you are lying.

"by saying that since the Obamas have wealth that they should somehow foot the bill"

Of course they should. Rich people do not deserve welfare handouts.

or do a little less (which means foot the bill if they want the standard they were entitled to).

"That argument fails on a number of simple logic tests"

It actually succeeds in all ways.

Your arguments fail, as you do nothing but argue for government giving handouts to the wealthy.

"In summary, the Obamas have in fact done what they are "entitled to" if you sish to change the entitlements then have them changed but never whinge about them being used."

As I question authority, and oppose Marxism and excess by the ruling elites, and realize we have a major debt problem, I know it is a cold hard fact that wasting such money on these handouts is pure waste

"his wealth a factor? Only if you are a Marxist (ie dmarks)."

I am as much a Marxist as you are a Rosicrucian. Pointing out the problem of a government in deep dept giving massive handouts to a wealthy man (money taken at gunpoint) is neither whinging, nor is it Marxist.

"I find it childish and infintile..."

I find it such that you use juvenile insults for those who are more informed on these issues than you are.

"that supposive adults will continually assume that because a number of us do not agree with the comments by the author that we are "leftists""

You espouse leftist views. Forgive me for using words accurately.

"and "support Obama no matter what"."

You have repeatedly lied and made outrageous and silly arguments in order to justify wasting money on these handouts to Obama. So yes, you support him no matter what, in this case.

"In my case both are wrong and it is a rather [meaningless insult] when frankly some here have no actually factual or logical arguments to retort with."

The last part of your sentence is a perfect description of you. But what can one expect? You are a hack (your own word) who has repeatedly argued for government control and censorship of the Internet.

"I am more than happy to acknowledge and debate actual facts"

You repeatedly fail to do so.

"not just wild-eyes rhetoric which I consider should be left on the high-school courtyard."

Another perfect description of your arguments. Or blathering that you seem to think is an argument.

Lib, you are seriously mistaken in believing that about me, lol!! You have absolutely no idea what a Christian is, and for one thing, we are not afraid to stand up for the truth. And I WISH I was just a suburban wife, that would be so nice. Mistaken once again.

Shaw, now you are presuming that he would be just as greedy and narcissistic as your president? And it doesn't bother you one bit how much money he has wasted? Or can I assume you don't pay taxes and could careless where that money goes? Because I work hard, and I hate where my tax dollars are being tossed into the wind, so to speak. Like I said, broken record, those that voted for him should foot the bill. Then I could careless where he goes and how much he spends as long as it isn't my money.

For the record, there never really has been a "perfect" president but in my opinion, Obama has been the worst president in history. Why can't you see that? I just don't get it?

Lisa, in their eyes, Obama is perfection incarnate. At least those of us living in the real world can see when the GOP makes mistakes and we point it out. They cannot seem to grasp that. We do.

Cube, and yet we are the one's that are the bad people for pointing out the obvious, nice huh?

DC, what I find disturbing is that you honestly believe everything you are stating and defending. Try and see the truth for what it is.

Dmarks, on all counts, SPOT-ON!

To The Leftists:

Do the Obama's spend more money on vacation than if they were staying at the White House? Whatever the taxpayers are paying for them to live in the White House is the amount of money they should use on their vacation. The First Family should have to make up the difference, if their vacation costs more. Of course the government class isn't used to spending their own wealth, they only know how to spend other peoples wealth.

dmarks said...

Teresa: the leftists here, including Damien, are all about supporting the power and privilege of the ruling elites.... to live large on money forcibly taken from everyone else. And that is what typically happens in a Marxist government.

And Damien calls me a Marxist for wanting them to live on what they earn, not what they plunder.

dmarks said...

And there are plenty of other examples of the Obamas having lots of personal fun at public expense:

Also, on a different but related issue, the article Leticia presents shows abuse of Air Force One for fun. During the last Presidential campaign, Obama used Air Force One for campaining extensively, but only re-imbursed the government for part of the cost. This is a sort of fraud, and an unethical practice which the President engaged in last year: having the taxpayers pay for most of his campaign travel expenses.

It is always best to stick to the facts, rather than the knee-jerk reaction of the leftists here who defend massive welfare payments for rich people.

Let's start with the basics, shall we? EVERY President, every single last FUCKING one of them is an amateur President when they assume office. There is, literally, NOTHING that prepares you for being President (except maybe being Vice President). No matter how much you snivel, whine, and complain about Obama, it doesn't change that fact.

Having said this much, let us continue: The measure of whether a President is a good President, or a bad one, is how they cope with the situations that occur while they are in office. That being the case we can, and SHOULD, argue that by every (REASONABLE AND NON-PARTISAN) standard Barack Obama is a GOOD President and George W. Bush was a BAD President.

You desperate Righties just continue to keep getting more and more laughable.
suck it up GOP, you lost, you held out with obstructionism, and all out refusal to compromise on anything with the President, biding your time, hoping you would win, well, the election is over, you came out on the short end of the stick, so now that you have no reason to obstruct, come on down, and do some work with the President, maybe if you act like you actually care about the country and not yourselves, you may, just may, have a chance in 2016, or if you want to boo-hoo your way there also, you can whine all you want too, so expect to lose

The Question Man said...

And stop whining about Michelle Obama.
Mrs. Obama wants America children to be healthy and not the obese slobs that we have seen during the Bush years! So she's trying to help promote healthy kids, a mandate has been sent forth directing which foods and how much may be administered, what in the world is wrong with that?.

Yet, many conservatives are whining non-stop with such things as "what gives her the right to make up school lunch guidelines", "she is the President's wife, not a food nutritionist", "President Obama was elected to lead America. His wife was not elected to be in charge of children's food", (other racist remarks)

If this were Laura Bush's movement, the cons would be out in force and blaming all the hippy liberal parents for their kids eating at McDonald's. Gigantic joke and they should be ashamed.
Only an idiot conservative could make good nutrition into a negative thing.
And by the way.... YOU LOST THE ELECTION!
When will the racism and bigotry in America cease?

Weren't you fools bashing the Obama's for 4 years? Calling them both just about every negative and insulting name in the book!
Michelle Obama isn't even a political figure and yet you have been constant bashing her and that smacks of racism!
It has become very predictable especially in the past election campaign that our First Lady Michelle Obama was made the laughing stock of the country because she chose fighting childhood obesity as her favorite cause. That in no way made her the "Food Police" as she was called. And how about all the mocking of her because of the vacations she took? Is she not allowed a few vacations? Did the Bush's not spend more time at "The Ranch" then they did in the white house!
And every time The First Lady put on a dress it was the topic of laughter, was it not?
Are you all just jealous of her success with all of her projects. and her beautiful looks. She is a very popular First Lady...which makes the right stark-raving mad and envious. Well Deal With It!

And thank God there are people like Shaw Kenawe who ahs the good sense and the guts to call you fools out!

Why is it that every single Liberal is a radical when it comes to Conservatives, if you want to be honest about it, then debate the issues and stop the silly name calling games. Nobody here is willing to use any logic in their argument against the liberal agenda. Never before have I seen the ugly propaganda of a campaign perpetuated for so long. It does not surprise me though, after the success of the Bush administration under the lowlife lair Karl Rove's leadership. Propaganda has once again become their stradgy. Facts don't matter, as it takes time and effort to disprove lies. If you send out enough, some will inevitably stick. People tend to believe that which supports their existing opinions, without question. They also tend to listen only to those with similar opinions, and agree with what they want to hear..

Now that entire bunch of lying commentators who works for Fox News, along with Karl Rove, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and Sarah Palin, and the rest of the Propaganda Ministers has come home to roost. The "Tea Party" movement is just as orchestrated as the smear campaigns. It is merely another tactic to win back votes from Democrats after the disastrous consequences of the previous administration's policies. They really don’t care at all about what they have to say as long as they win. The US health care system is broken. It has been for a while. It is just a difficult to address and is therefore politically inconvenient. The Republicans agreed that something must be done at the debate, but they did nothing in the past three decades to fix it. The ever rising cost of health care and insurance will soon put them out of the reach of most Americans. More and more Americans are forced to go without insurance. Americans want the change, but they are suffering buyers remorse. The right is constantly bombarding them with false propaganda demonizing the President and his policies. They are being told about "death panels" and "health rationing" and all manners of other half-truths and exaggerations, and whatever it takes to make the President look bad

The "racism and bigotry" will stay alive as long as you are here arguing your arguments, and Ez is using racist hate speech. I have to laugh when I hear them quote that nonsense about “Liberalism being a mental disease”. I think that Conservatism shows a lack of intellectual acuity
There’s nothing wrong with having conservative view points. But I have a problem with a conservative who thinks like you do and who nitpicks my comment apart and being a complete dickwad about it by trying to force your ideals and beliefs on all those around you instead of compromising or realizing that two people can exist and be cordial to one another even if they don’t agree. Seriously, when you listen to these people speak you wonder just how out of touch one group of people can be with reality.
For example the term "Cracker" is NOT a racist insult. It is acceptable terminology for portraying a white person. It is used commonly on TV, in the movies and on stage. But calling a black person the “N” word is certainly a racist insult! Won’t you agree to that? Well I can show you a blog where it is used as commonly as any other word in the bloggers vocabulary.
So please don't preach to me....

First lets get the obvious out of the way. President Barack Obama IS NOT A LIAR. ALL politicians say things that may be slanted from the truth! , Even Romney, and especially George Bush! Every time I hear some righty say that Obama ALWAYS lies and that he’s the ONLY liar AND that his whole life is a lie? Without a doubt..COMPLETE BULLSHIT, but here’s one that isn’t, Barack Obama is the most disrespected President in American History, and I can back that up with facts, all you would have to do is to read the conservative blogs, any of them.

And it’s disgusting how President Obama is being vilified for the death of FOUR Americans in that embassy in Libya . It was a horrible tragedy but it also shows another mental problem with the right, and that is being hypocritical to the bone.

The party of racists, bigots, extremists, homophobes, AND hypocrites scream bloody murder over the fact that FOUR Americans die under a “lie” that President Obama told, but then again these exact same hypocrites didn’t whine, in fact, they didn’t care or mind that hundreds and thousands of Americans died under a lie President Bush told. They didn’t mind that they died for an unjust war or that they died looking for weapons of Mass Delusion.
Remember, I’m talking about a party that are obviously hiding and denying the cold-hearted fact that they hate having a black man as the President of the United States, that they use these taboo words (they have shown time and time again that they don’t know the meaning of those words) in place of what they REALLY want to call him!
For the past four years, here is a crowd of hateful crybabies who have been definitely the most disrespectful of a sitting President surely in American History (F.Y.I to the extremist right, YES HE IS the President).

And by the way, Lisa, who asked you for your racist two cents? I thought all you were interested in was doggies in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!
Funny how Racism brings people out of the closet!

And EzZee, thanks for holding down the fort while I was away.

Question, you are lying about Bush and Iraq. In every thing you said. And you are the one being racist, not us.

The Question Man said...

OK then, let talk about the conservatives favorite topic... “Benghazi”
Those old, angry, old white Republican guys are at it again. They just can't control their worst instincts. They see a black face in a position of importance and they go nuts.
Now they're going after U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, not because she went on five Sunday news shows and told a fairy tale about why four Americans were killed in Benghazi, but simply because she's a black woman. Oh my God! Black woman named "Rice" for Secretary of State... how can we let that happen!
Earlier in this thread you quoted the phrase "act of terror" as if it came from the last paragraph of the above quoted external text. You did so to make it look as if it was a specific reference to the incident in Benghazi. That phrase is not in that quoted external text! You will, however, find "ACTS OF TERROR". "Acts of terror" is not specific to any particular incident. I'm sure you know that though.
It’s really disgusting how President Obama is being vilified for the death of four Americans in that embassy in Libya . It was a horrible tragedy but it also shows another mental problem with the right, and that is being hypocritical to the bone.
The entire Rose Garden conference was about BENGHAZI. These are FACTS.
Go read the entire thing for yourself, it's a speech about BENGHAZI, not 9/11.
No, nobody lied about people dying. Not Hillary Clinton, Not Susan Rice and NOT certainly The President Barack Obama. It is disgusting to see conservatives attack Obama in an attempt to destroy his Presidency. Have they no shame? NO, of course not.
You have to get your facts a bit clearer when you try to get your point across. as a matter of fact, if Romney would have been more articulate with his words in regards to the policies he was going to implement, and how he would improve the economy, perhaps he would have had a chance at the presidency.

Now, on the other hand, one of the greatest lies ever fabricated during any administration was the product of the GOP, and the creation of the Iraq war. WMD's? haha! Bush should have been impeached then and there.
For the past four years, here is a crowd of hateful crybabies who have been definitely the most disrespectful of a sitting President surely in American History (F.Y.I to the extremist right, YES HE IS the President). It's really pathetic how you righties seem to make excuses from every wrong that you make..
You're just one of those desperate individuals that can't even be honest with yourself!
What a freaking joke the right wingers are. These clowns are all blowhards and once again prove that they are more concerned about being the loud drunk in the bar than to actually take care or be considerate of the issue.
Romney lost and looked like a spectacular idiot doing it, and you guys are in damage control.

Since the New Deal, Republicans have been on the wrong side of every issue of concern to ordinary Americans; Social Security, the war in Vietnam, equal rights, civil liberties, church- state separation, consumer issues, public education, reproductive freedom, national health care, labor issues, gun policy, campaign-finance reform, the environment
and tax fairness. No political party could remain so consistently wrong by accident.
The only rational conclusion is that, despite their cynical "family values" propaganda, the Republican Party is a criminal conspiracy to betray the interests of the American people
in favor of plutocratic and corporate interests, and absolutist religious groups.
Mitt Romney, like Richard Nixon, campaigned on a lie. Instead of secret plan to end a war, Romney promised a secret plan to improve the economy. Romney had no hesitation about lying about literally everything. His entire campaign was a scam -- And we all know what a liar George Bush was. Bush, Cheney, Rice, Powell and Rumsfeld all lied, in the true definition of the word. It is all documented.
Whenever George W. Bush opened his mouth out come blatant lies. But the lie about why we invaded Iraq was not just one of his usual lies where he twists his words so badly that you don’t even know what he is trying to say. This lie was his most blatant lie, the one that started a war, the one that got over 1700 Americans and 10’s of thousands of INNOCENT Iraqis killed.
Why? Because they're evil GOP bastards!

I'm done here... Good night all.

you said and I quote;

"DC, what I find disturbing is that you honestly believe everything you are stating and defending. Try and see the truth for what it is"

1. This is your blog and thus you own it, but frankly speaking I do ask that very same question about much of what you put up. You have in the past basically got it wrong and even pushed basic lies. Of those lies, most has to do with the Obamas.

2. It should be reminded that in fact the bulk of the American people have chosen to consider your viewpoint to be wrong but who cares, it is a free country and you are allowed to believe that your totally fringe, out-of-touch and factually wrong views "must" be right.

3. I most certainly stick to my views which, again I must remind you, is in fact the views of most of your fellow Americans as proven in the last election and if you bothered to read any media that is not part of the far-right media (that you quote so often).

Personally I have no issue with people having any opinion, that is most certainly their God-given right. HOWEVER, when they start stating that things are facts, and they are not, that is when I start targetting.

With respect, your comments on this particular thread are just a bowl fool of cr*p and your constant attacking of your President based on partisan wishful hatred is probably EVERYTHING that is wrong with the so-called Conservative Evangelical Christian Right.

Teresa, excellent question. It would be nice if they contributed out of their own pockets for their personal trips. I believe that for all those in leadership, not just the president.

Question Man, your opinion about Obama is rather comical and your perspective regarding the GOP is completely off the chart. We DO care about our nation, we are tired of the outrageous spending, abortion on Demand, and everything that has stomped on the rights of the people. WE want a government that is fiscally responsible, and to adhere to the Constitution, how difficult is this for you to comprehend?? And this post was about spending NOT about Michelle's socialistic views on telling parents and schools what to feed their children. She should practice what she preaches. And not one person here has even referred to the Obama's race! Get over that, will you? Talk about rhetorical nonsense.

One more thing, you and your fellow liberals seem to be the only ones using profanity and insulting those that don't agree with you. How typical. No individuality whatsoever. You need a great dose of reality and a touch by Grace.

DC, I would support Obama wholeheartedly if he was not such a liar. And furthermore, I COULD NEVER support a man that supports infanticide, who is irresponsible with spending money the US doesn't have any longer, who supports immorality, who prefers to be with movie stars than saving Americans. Who only thinks about himself and no one else, who will be firing over 20,000 Marines.

Yes, this is my blog, and I have admitted when I am in the wrong, I am far from perfect. But when I do post about Obama, Planned Parenthood, or whatever, I do tend to visit many liberal and conservative sites to get get my information.

And then I make up my OWN mind and form my opinion.

I will not hinder anyone speaking freely here, ever.

Wow! This has been pretty heated, just the way I like it!

This post and many of the comments here are yet another example of ODS (Obama Derangement Syndrome). As other liberals have outlined here, the vacations taken by President Obama and their cost to the taxpayers pale in comparison to those by then President George W. Bush. People on the right cannot stand when we bring up the record of President George W. Bush. However, we only bring up Bush's record to point out the partisan hypocrisy of people on the right. Sure, some on the right may say it was bad when Bush did this, but I think they're just covering their ass so they don't come off like hyper-partisan nitpickers. Even if they really think it was bad when Bush did it, I doubt they were outraged enough to blog about it when it was happening. If any of you righties were, by all means, share your links with us.

Leticia, if you think what Shaw said about Romney is bashing, how would you define your terming President Obama a "scumbag"? Don't say it's the truth, because the last time I checked, calling someone a "scumbag" is an opinion not a fact.

You said you would support Obama wholeheartedly if he was not such a liar. If that's true, why did you support such a brazen liar as Mitt Romney?!

By the way, President Obama is YOUR president too... whether you like it or not. He won fair and square and that's something you'll just have to accept. Also, if you think President Obama is the worst in history, where would you rank Bush 43?!

One other thing. Leticia said the following:

"Lisa, in their eyes, Obama is perfection incarnate. At least those of us living in the real world can see when the GOP makes mistakes and we point it out. They cannot seem to grasp that. We do."

I doubt any liberal who's commented here thinks President Obama is perfect. I think you guys feel we support President Obama no matter what because we are usually responding to posts which reek of Obama Derangement Syndrome. On the conservative blogs/sites I read, Fox News and right-wing talk radio, the posts/stories about President Obama normally fall into 1 of 4 categories:

1.Outright lies/distortion or trying to pass off opinions as facts. For example, using out of context quotes/video clips to “prove” he’s Muslim, the phony controversy surrounding the rapper Common, accusing President Obama of being tied to the New Black Panther Party, claiming he’s Un-American/ hates this country, etc.

2. Hypocritically criticizing him for things which Republicans have also done. For example, claiming his use of the slogan “Forward” is a nod to Communism, while ignoring the fact that President Nixon used the slogan “Forward Together” for his 1969 inauguration. Not to mention “Forward” has been the state motto for Wisconsin since 1848! Also, righties lambasting him for putting his feet on a desk in the Oval Office (while neglecting the fact there are pics of Presidents Ford and Bush 43 doing the same thing).

3. Criticism which comes off as petty nitpicking. Case in point. When President Obama unveiled a plan earlier this year to promote U.S. tourism, Leticia wrote a post accusing him of using Air Force One for his “personal taxi” and not having his priorities straight.

4. Irrationally blaming him for things which he has no control over. For example, a protestor is arrested at the Alaska State Fair and somehow that’s another example of how we are losing our freedoms and liberties under President Obama.
http://teresamerica.blogspot.com/2010/10/security-at-alaska-state-fair-act-like.html

Just like with any previous POTUS, when it comes to President Obama, there are meaningful policy debates to be had between liberals and conservatives. However, most conservatives seem either incapable or unwilling to do so.

Teresa said...

Malcolm,

The problem with your accusations is its the pot calling the kettle black. We can each come up with articles to support our beliefs. And its especially easy for liberals since liberals have about 80 percent of the media being liberal and covering up for the president and defending his policies while bashing Republicans and their policies. Talk about fairness there. I think there needs to be a T.V. media fairness act to ensure conservative/Republican ideas are given a chance to be heard by the public. Joking.... since libs incessantly talk about fairness and the right to this and that.

Leticia said...

Malcolm, you would like this heated post! LOL! You know that I dislike Obama, and I despise his policies and maybe I shouldn't have called him a, "scumbag." But I did. Sometimes even conservatives get fed up and I am. I hate the direction this government is taking this nation. I cannot stand how he believes he's entitled to spend money has he wishes, regardless of how bad off the economy is right now. It was in very bad taste to take vacation at this crucial time.

I, have had face to face arguments about Obama, on Facebook and even here and that is what I perceive. Liberals defend him as if he was their Messiah, and Jamie Foxx pretty much proved that theory. Poor soul.

I still believe the Obama's use Air Force One as their personal Taxi.

To y'all, there is a difference between a black person and a nigger... or a spic and an Hispanic.... and a Caucasian and a cracker. You just need to know this, and when to use it. If you use the term when it's needed, then there's no problem.
Let’s not kid ourselves, race played an important role in getting Obama elected. These morons can’t comprehend that those who make race out to be an issue are the racists. Look at those idiots Sharpton, Jackson, and any other race baiter. And Quantrill X who wouldn’t have a career if it weren’t for their race baiting. They are not only racist's but racists but the lowest of the low. I would call them pieces of shit!!

GREAT comment Malcolm Bondon .

The Conservatives on this here thread need to come live in the real world. Its not such a scary place. You sound like spoiled children who didn't get their way, when your candidate lost. He lost because he was a inferior candidate, and a lair to boot . Most blacks work hard for a world without racism and they acknowledge the proven fact that white people have committed atrocities against every minority out there. No, they aren't the only group to commit racial atrocities.

The wacko Conservatives on these boards are racist and post ignorant comments. Go walk around a tea party event you will find that these people are drunk, and lewd. Most of the signs will have ms-spelled racist and factually wrong comments. Not just a few. Many many of them are racists and bigots at these events. If you want to find racism, go look in the mirror Conservatives.

dmarks said...

If you want to find racism in this discussion, it has only come from the liberals... from Ez and his use of racist smears words to Question Man and his assertion that Obama's skin color puts him above criticism.

And your new assertion about whites and racism, running counter to the fact that racism is a human problem committed by members of all races.

Time to put the "cracker" word to bed, too. So odd and ironic that a racial smear word universally deemed as offensive, disparating, etc. came right after the user of the word said "Where's the respect?" and he also defended the use of this racist word right after saying "[realize] that two people can exist and be cordial to one another even if they don’t agree."

Since when are racist terms 'cordial':

1) "5 a usually disparaging : a poor usually Southern white " (Merriam Webster.

Yes, that's racist alright. A disparating term for poor people of a certain color.

2) "US offensiveanother term for poor white." (Oxford Dictionaries)

3) Variations on "Cracker" have an antire page in the "Racial Slur Database", a place where the word would not be found if it were a racial slur.

4)The "cracker" racial slur is used extensively by the New Black Panthers (a group that is a modern version of the KKK but with the racists reversed. It is used in the same fashion as the KKK uses the N-word.

5) Wikipedia places it on a "List of Ethnic Slurs."

6) "b. Used as a disparaging term for a white person." (Free Online Dictionary)

-------------

The user of this word saying it is 'acceptable" is thus proven entirely wrong. It is acceptable perhaps, among bigots, but those who aren't racist and are 'cordial' and show 'respect' won't be using or defending this or any other racial/ethnic smear word.

It can also be noted that such language tends to be used first and foremost by liberals commenting on this blog, and not by conservatives. Other examples include calling gays "homos" and "faggots"... something done by the liberal commenters, and not the conservatives.

Speaking about Race-Baiters,
today I read that George Zimmerman sued NBC on Thursday, claiming he was defamed when the network edited his 911 call to police after the shooting of Trayvon Martin to make it sound like he was racist. Zimmerman filed the lawsuit Also named in the complaint were three reporters covering the story for NBC or an NBC-owned television station. The complaint said the airing of the edited call has inflicted emotional distress on Zimmerman, making him fear for his life and causing him
He should also sue Obama, Jackson, Sharpton & Spike Lee. They all contributed to the racial hysteria. And don´t forget the Obama buddies = New black Panthers for the bounty ´dead or alive´.

Us conservatives were appalled and sickened by the race-baiting coverage of this story by NBC and other mainstream media outlets. This was clear-cut malpractice by NBC. I would hope Zimmerman sues NBC for multi millions of dollars. NBC must be made an example of.
Travon´s loathsome parents´ ostentatious displays of "grief" while holding hands and pretending to be together so they can milk every available dime from their son´s death.

This has been a travesty of justice.

His father didn't even report him missing for 3 days.
Zimmerman was tried and convicted by the media ,the race baiters and the out of control anarchists who feel entitled to be destructive and act like mobs at every turn since Obama got elected.
And yes Malcolm it is true that all the left wing blogs and media do everything in their power to make Obama look good. He sure didn't become a cnadidate by his record that's for sure.
And the only ones who bring up the race issue is the left. They use it to shut down debate. They all do it an frankly nobody listens to them anymore because they over used it and diminished what racism really is.
I would think that would bother you when they use it to debate any point. Like that slobbering Chris Matthews when he attacked Reince Preibus about racism when nothing he said was racist.
oh ad eeezeee aren't you really Pirate Satellite? You're just as ignorant as him.

dmarks said...

Lisa said: "Zimmerman was tried and convicted by the media "

While I see your point, this cannot happen in the US. The media cannot conduct a trial. They cannot convict him. They cannot sentence him. They can express opinion, but anything else in the direction of tried/etc is just their imagination.

Racism is mainstream among the leftists, liberals, and democrats. In comparison, it is only an occasional error among conservatives. Want to see proof? Anyone with at least a half of a brain knew Obama was going to win. Most of his supporters were those who voted for him because of his color. They didn’t care if he was qualified for the job or not. They didn’t even care about that. What is really means is that most of his supporters only care about one issue (his color). If you look at the votes of citizens (not the Electrical College votes) Romney won in Ohio. The Board of Elections clearly show only 32% of Ohioans voted for Obama. Call it Prejudice, Blind Loyalty, pride in African-Americans, or just plain Stupidity, but those are the facts. Maybe it was because of the fact that they thought they were getting free money, free food, free cell phones, free housing, free medical and much more. The non-married female who enjoys pumping out children by using various males to up their free Food stamps and money . Obama makes them a promise and then they roll onto their backs in total submission.
Now, nothing stands in his way for making more dept and further destroying our economy. It is known as Obamanomics. His next goal is to trash our rights . Americans are screwed. Dmarks, That was my first thought as well when I read Malcolm's comments here and then when I went to his blog and read it, that only confirmed and reinforced my first impression.
People like Malcolm seem to be perfectly happy not even trying to change that primitive prejudice in their own minds. Some folks just seem to revel in it, and rather whine about being treated unjustly and therefor just hate and hate. Kind or reminds me of Al Sharpton and his buddy Jessie Jerkson.
Larry Elder wrote a book about "blacks being more racist than whites" And this blog thread proves that it's true. I think the hatred among blacks like Malcolm, The Question Man and Ezz is much more prevalent than among whites. I tend to call these people Pro-Marxist, race-baiting agitators. Like most progressive's are.

I find this question particularly amusing.
When Conservatives look at a crowd of people, they see blacks, whites, Hispanics, Orientals, men, women, rich, poor, gay, straight, union workers, old, young etc.

When liberals look at a crowd of people, they just see people.

dmarks said...

Notice that Ez did not address the problem of his repeated racial slurs.

And the opposite is true of his clais: conservatives tend to favor the same treatment for all. No special benefits, quotes, etc for anyone. Equal justice under the law.

dmarks said...

Proof of the above is also found in the Obama campaign's "divide and conquer". Blacks for Obama, whites for Obama, hispanics for Obama. All those groups.

Whereas Romney assumed we were all in this together, and didn't want to do the socially destructive thing of dividing society and pitting sub-groups against each other.

Silly him. Appealing to the best instincts of Americans. Unfortunately, that does not win elections these days.

Ironically, if Fox News really was "fair and balanced", most of you wouldn't even watch it. You are absolutely SPOT-ON regarding your commentary regarding the election. Romney didn't stand a chance, how could he. I am ashamed that so many Latinos voted for him. It's like all those that voted him, have their blinders on and only can see black and white. Conservatives vote by researching their candidates, their voting records, and even how they vote on moral issues. And yet, we are the idiots because we know what Obama is and they just can't see the truth. They will reap what the sow. And what a sad day for them all.

Lisa, exactly.

Ezz, you are contradicting yourself. You and Question Man are the only ones who brought up race not the conservatives here and you continue to spew your racial slurs. God created all men as equals. Color has NOTHING to do with this blog, with politics, etc. Liberals seem to be obsessed with the subject of racism. And for the record, I dislike Obama due to his moral stance, and how he spends the tax payers money, how he is trying to diminish our military, etc. I am a very informed voter and I look at every angle of a person before I form an opinion. "Could have been my son".

And the So Called and the "leaders" of the black community Al Sharpton of the Tawana Bawley catastrophic case, who falsely accused NY police of raping her.You remember Al Sharpton and that wonderful teenage Black girl Tawana Brawley who ruined the lives of many innocent people, including a NY assistant DA.
And Al Sharpton, who led a racist anti-Korean boycott. But do you remember the deaths caused by Sharpton´s targeting of Freddie´s Fashion Mart,a store in NY's Harlem where Sharpton claimed that it was white owned when it was actually black owned.

And now they are releasing those pictures showing Zimmerman's bloody face.
So who are you gonna believe, Zimmerman or Obama´s son?

The only reason Malcolm doesn't think Fox is fair & balanced is because Fox doesn't defer to the president and usually give Obama and the Democrats the benefit of the doubt like the other networks. Malcolm is a person who doesn't live within truth whereas Fox for the most part tell the truth and shows both sides of the debate or different political positions when possible so that challenges his untruthful way of thinking and he can't stand that. He doesn't like any thinking that challenges the cultural norm. If Malcolm thinks any of the other networks are fair and balanced he is just kidding himself. This fits in with the liberal ideological narrative which Malcolm follows. I mean when you look to Media Matters as a legitimate news organization and not a progressive propaganda machine you know the person has no sense of what is considered "fair and balanced" and "truthful."

Lets look at the facts. Zimmerman suffered broken nose, there are now new pictures that the press was hiding that showed Zimmerman with bloody nose, lips, and had injury to back of head, he was attacked by Trayvon Martin. !

There are Witness’s who say: Zimmerman was on the bottom of Trayvon Martin
We all saw and know that the Black Panthers post $10k reward for Zimmerman
Sanford, Fla - The announcement was made Saturday by new Black Panther leader Mikhail Muhammad during a rally in Sanford, Florida. Muhammad went on to say "An eye for an eye. A tooth for a tooth," when asked if the proposed bounty was an outright call for violence.
The rally was the third staged by the Black Panthers in two weeks since the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. The shooter, 28-year-old George Zimmerman, served as the leader of a neighborhood watch group in a gated community in suburban Orlando. Zimmerman has yet to be arrested by police for the incident.
The Black Panthers called for Zimmerman's immediate arrest and threatened to seek him out themselves if police were not willing to do so. "If the government won't do the job, we'll do it," Mikhail Muhammad said. Spike Lee retweeted George Zimmerman’s address, the Black Panthers put a $10,000 bounty on his head, Louis Farrakhan issued a vague threat, and there have been so many death threats on Twitter against Zimmerman that they’re almost impossible to count.
I’m not a fan of lynch mobs, no matter what color they happen to be — and that’s what this is turning into a lynch mob.
President Obama declared in a press conference Friday that Trayvon Martin, the 17-year old African-American student fatally shot by Florida neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman in February, looks like his own hypothetical son. "If I had a son,"
So were is the so called fair justice? It don’t exist if you are up against a mob of Blacks. This world is just so fucked up and the race pimps today love to waddle in all of this turmoil.

The are two reasons I don't believe your claims about Shaw. First, I've never seen any evidence of racism from her. Secondly, you have a tendency to distort people's words to fit your agenda. I've outlined examples of how you've distorted in past comment threads so there's no need for me to rehash it. Leticia: Regarding your jabs at President Obama for his recent vacation, why haven’t you been as critical of the vacations taken by some of his Republican predecessors? President Ronald Reagan took a 25-day vacation while unemployment was at 9.5%! Weren’t Americans suffering then? The vacations taken by President George W. Bush have been well-documented. One could look at many of the events going on here and abroad during Bush’s presidential vacations and label them “crucial times”.

I and many other liberals don’t defend President Obama as if he’s the “Messiah”. As I stated above, there are legit criticisms to make against him (just like any POTUS). I’ve criticized him myself. However, when conservatives insist on making up stuff about him and criticizing him for things while giving passes to Republicans for doing the same thing, liberals (as well as conservatives such as Damien Charles) are going to speak out. If you want to dislike and criticize President Obama, that’s your right. All I ask is that you be fair and objective about it.
I do recall you saying Romney wasn’t your first choice. I brought it up to you before, remember?  I only mentioned Romney in this thread because you said you’d support President Obama if he wasn’t such a liar. I find the statement funny because Romney is one of the biggest liars I’ve seen in politics and there’s plenty of video evidence documenting his dishonesty.

As for me being respectful, you’re quite welcome. Although I’m not religious, I do believe in “do unto others” and you’ve been respectful towards me.

Fabian: Where do I begin? Although I’m not a doctor (I don’t even play one on TV), I think you need psychiatric attention. Even though me debunking your nonsense won’t change your mind, at least others here will see how you distort things to fit your narrow worldview.

The reason most of the posts on Progressive Soup are race-related is because when it was launched in 2009 (as Diversity Ink), the focus of the blog was race. The posts weren’t just political or social. Some of them delved into sports, pop culture, etc. In the eyes of you and many other conservatives, just wanting to talk about race makes one a racist.

Your claim that I degrade white candidates is also a distortion. If you’re referring to the 2012 GOP presidential candidates, that would stand to reason since all but one of them were white! Their race is irrelevant, it's their policies I didn’t like. Your baseless claim might have made sense if I gave Herman Cain a pass. By the way, you failed to mention how I disagreed with Al Sharpton, criticized Jesse Jackson, and have praised/defended conservatives (who just happened to be white) in posts my blog:

http://diversityink.blogspot.com/2011/08/pat-buchanan-calls-president-obama-your.html

http://diversityink.blogspot.com/2010/07/uncle-lebrons-cabin-as-told-by-jesse.html

http://diversityink.blogspot.com/2012/02/republican-state-representative-gives.html

Since you apparently know the ins and outs of my entire blog, surely you knew about these posts, right?

By the way, calling me a blatant closet racist makes zero sense… I can’t be both! Please, either call me a blatant racist or a closet racist.

One last thing... I can assure that Pirate Satellite is not an alter (alto?!) ego of mine. You will only see posts by me using my name. By the way, the comments by you and "Anon" sound eerily similar to one of the vilest bloggers I've ever had the (dis)pleasure of knowing..."The Malcontent". I hope you, Anon, and The Malcontent are the same because it's downright terrifying to think there's someone else who "thinks" as you do.

Anon: To put it simply, you are a pathological liar! The thing with liars like you is that you’re easy to expose. Especially when all I have to do is go to my own blog and see what I actually did write. Here is my full response to Question Man that you conveniently abbreviated:

Thanks for stopping by. Although I am not a fan of Limbaugh, Hannity, or Levin, I wouldn't term them neo-Nazis. As for them being racists, I think Rush is and I'm not sure about Levin because I don't listen to him enough. I won't deem Hannity a racist. However, he does resort to one of the oldest tricks in the right-wing playbook: having black guests do his dirty work for him. For example:

http://diversityink.blogspot.com/2012/04/damn-fox-news-is-predictable-just-other.html

Here is my full reply to EzzZee: Thanks for commenting. I hope you are right about President Obama getting a second term. With the voter ID laws Republican lawmakers have put into place, I'm afraid the race is going to be too close for comfort.

I’m not sure how you felt you had the goods on me by including my partial response to EzzZee. I happen to agree with everything he said.

If you want to pull comments from my blog to "prove" what a horrible person I am "Anon", at least have the guts to include everything I said. Otherwise, back the f*** off!

Teresa: Don't worry, I'll be dealing with you later. :-)

Don't you think by writing F*** off is the same as just writing. It out?

Malcolm: what makes you a hypocrite and undermines your case against Fox News is that you give MSNBC/etc a free passs when they lie/distort/smear. You proudly display the exact equivalents of Hannity, Beck etc (but on the left) on your blog. It is pure partisanship which makes you see such a major difference between them.

The Question Man said...

I’m so sorry you racists now have to resort to nitpicking needless unimportant issues to demean the country for NOT Mitt Romney or George Bush!. Sad…Sad indeed!
But... the majority of Americans don't agree with you right wing racist imbeciles. So go ahead and keep preaching to your choir, keep up the Obama is evil nonsense, and keep deflecting blame from your party’s message, it will only further drive the party to the right, and cause the inevitable future failures of the Republican Party. They blame everyone but themselves. They even blame two hurricanes on Obama winning, but if that’s true then it was an Act of God that re-elected the president in a landslide after you called his re-election as wrongly as any of the other “experts.” You have zero credibility. Zero. You are nothing short of morally deprave imbeciles and pathetic SORE LOSERS. And you have been that way ever since the black man became President.
Republican's are VERMIN

Whoa!! now wasn't that an expression of astonishment coming from someone with such a holier than thou attitude, someone with such an attitude of superior virtue! So now you have not only accused me of being someone else (who sounds like someone who has bite you in your behind a little too hard) but you have now resorted to name calling, the most common trick of the trade of Leftists. Your last comment is a perfect example of the Leftist's technique called "Change the subject". AKA lying.
After reading your lat post, I returned to your sickening blog and I read the crap you wrote and the comments from your Leftie Comrades and I thought I was going to puke!
You know Malcolm Bondon BOY,you can call me names, you can say that I'm a bible clinging Ultra Conservative "Racist" But I really doesn’t give a Fluke what you think or say.
OK, I am a racist. There are you happy now?
But no matter what, Im sticking Bible and with my with my Ultra Conservative friends(who used to be called Americans). I'm sticking to my "Guns" until we get our country back from you Obama loving drooling imbeciles.
No matter what YOU or your Comrades or Joe Biden, or, Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice, or that Serial Lair Bill Clinton, or Farrakhan, or Nancy Pelosi,Rachel Maddow, Al Sharpton, Chris Matthews says or thinks. I don’t give a rat’s a$$ what any of them think.

Let your BOY Obama continue to shake hands with Creep's like that Gangnam Style Rapper, and the rest of the America Haters.
I'll continue to comment on how much I despise you ALL. Plain and simple..

And dmarks, you can change that score abut Outright racist slurs used by groups in this discussion:
To:
Liberals: 3
Conservatives: 0

Anon: I expose you as a liar and your only comeback is that I used "f***"? When you've been whupped "Anon", stay down.

dmarks: Sorry, but you're making stuff up again. When I think it's warranted, I have no problem calling MSNBC out:

http://diversityink.blogspot.com/2011/08/ed-schultz-and-case-of-big-black-cloud.html

Even if I don't post about it (because I have other interests besides blogging), I'll criticize pundits outside the Fox universe. Below are just a few examples:

1. Chris Matthews saying that Newt Gingrich looks like a car bomber.

2. Misleading audio editing by NBC in regards to the George Zimmerman call.

3. Martin Bashir's disparaging joke about Charles Krauthammer's face.

The only reason I call out Fox more than other networks is because they are the biggest offenders. This shouldn't be a left/right thing, but conservatives love to make it into one. Also, I could be blogging about Fox more than I do. However, as I alluded to earlier, my blogging time is limited.

As for you, I have never seen you call out Fox for their numerous misdeeds. When I and other liberals criticize Fox, you normally defend, ignore, or deflect. I practically had to twist your arm to get you to admit it was indefensible for a Fox legal analyst to say she hopes gas prices say high! Even then, you cushioned your critique by saying her comments were irrelevant. When have you ever voluntarily criticized Fox for their lies, distortions, and smears against Democrats/liberals?

Fabian: Not surprisingly, you're misquoting me. My "back the f*** off" was directed at "Anon", who I addressed in the same comments (but after I replied to you). Sure, I use profanity and I never have pretended I don't or that I'm holier than thou. Although I try to stay away from cussing in the blogosphere, the deceptive tactics by "Anon" pissed me off. If you think me typing "f***" is worse than Anon lying, that says a lot about you... and none of it's good.

Also, I never accused you of being someone else. I said your comments and "Anon" sound like those of "The Malcontent". By the way, "The Malcontent" didn't bite me hard at all. He did get pissed over a run-in we had, but that's irrelevant.

In addition to not calling you names, I also didn't refer to you as a "bible clinging Ultra Conservative racist". Where do you get this stuff?! I did refer to you as a "conservative" and that is considered an insult in some circles. It's been said that some conservatives don't have an irony gene and it's true when it comes to you. In the same post in which you accuse me of name-calling, you use the terms "imbeciles" and "creeps"!

Also, how did I change the subject? You chose to drag my blog into this comment thread and call me a racist. If me calling you out for your BS about me is "changing the subject" in your eyes, so be it.

By the way, what's up with you typing "boy" in all caps in reference to me and President Obama?! I'm interested to see dmarks' response to this.

Malcolm, if you really think about it all presidents have their faults, trust me, I trashed Bush a few times as well, but no, not for his vacations but other things that I found quite unforgivable. I was very young when Reagan was in office, so what I heard came from my dad, who was active military at the time, and there were days he was not happy about his commander and chief, but the thing I loved is that both of my parents did their best to educate me and allowed me to form my own opinion. And like I have said before, I used to be a Democrat for a very long time, much to the dismay of my sisters and my parents. I was quite the liberal, let me tell you. But, like you, I was never vulgar, insulting or downright hateful to Republicans, just gave my opinion and let things go as they went. :) So, again, thank you.

Another form of Black Liberal hypocrisy, or jokes.
A few months ago when Rush Limbaugh referred to Sandra Fluke as a "slut" how the feminist movement demanded he apologize or be fired. Limbaugh apologized but they gave someone like Bill Maher a pass by calling Sarah Palin and other conservative women a slut, bitch, and other derogatory names. That goes same way when the feminist (and NAACP) decide to give Sandra Bernhard a pass about her that Sarah Palin being gang-raped by a bunch of black men.
Go figure: the feminsist groups can give a guy like Bill Maher a pass, but they found the time go after Andrew Dice Clay for his vulgar, sexist jokes and they successfully had him banned from many radio and television shows and appearing in comedy clubs for his explicit language and socially and politically charged humor. The difference was, I cannot recall any person in particular woman that "Dice" made jokes about

Teresa: Suffice it to say, you are dead wrong about my feelings regarding Fox News.Instead of addressing your comments in more detail here about Fox News and the other networks, I'll do so in a post I'll be writing. I've been planning this post in my head for awhile and I think it'll be easier responding to what you said that way. When the post is up, I'll be sure to let you know.

Leticia: I've been saying all along that no president is above criticism. I just can't see how you can bash President Obama for taking vacations while giving President Bush a pass. Don't you think he was vacationing during what people could describe as "crucial times". I recently saw a very good documentary about Reagan. I plan on posting about it in 2013.

I never knew you used to be a liberal. That's very surprising. I know you told me before you are busy with My Daily Trek and other things, but if you ever want to write a guest post at Progressive Soup about how and why you changed your political viewpoints, my offer still stands.

EKKKee said: "But I have a problem with a conservative who thinks like you do and who nitpicks my comment apart..."

It's your fault for loading your comments with what at best are flat-out lies and at worst are racial slurs. If you can't deal with the consequences of your poorly chosen words, then tough, crybaby.

Malcolm: "As for you, I have never seen you call out Fox for their numerous misdeeds."

I have, but mostly on other blogs. Where discussions of media are more intellectual, and lack the censor mentality of bumper stickers that show intolerance for freedom of the press.

"When I and other liberals criticize Fox, you normally defend, ignore, or deflect."

This is because the criticisms here typically come from hypocrites who want it censored, while they worship MSNBC for doing the exact same sort of thing.

I would say the exact same thing for anyone who is so arrogant and intolerant to demand people turn off MSNBC. But I have yet to run across one. If I have missed one, let me know.

"I practically had to twist your arm to get you to admit it was indefensible for a Fox legal analyst to say she hopes gas prices say high!"

Yes, it was pretty bad for her to do what the Obama Administration has also demanded.

"By the way, what's up with you typing "boy" in all caps in reference to me and President Obama?! I'm interested to see dmarks' response to this."

That Anon is a racist fool/tool. Just like eKKKee, he says crazy things all over to get attention. I put him in his place, and moved on. eKKKee likes to over use the term "boy" and I expect to see even worse from him, as he is going all "pointed white hooded robe" on Herman Cain at this time.

By the way, Malcolm, the controversy over Common, the nasty hate rapper who loves to call black people the N word (quite clearly racist) was not a fake controversy.

Malcolm Bondon said...

dmarks: You're distorting my position again. If you think I worship MSNBC, you are sadly mistaken. As for your comments about the Fox legal analyst who hoped gas prices would remain high, I already provided evidence on my blog of how your accusation towards the Obama administration was a stretch.

Saying the Common controversy wasn't fake is one thing. Backing it up is another. If you care to show instead of tell, dive right in here:

http://diversityink.blogspot.com/2011/05/fox-news-once-again-exhibits-common.html

By the way, I wonder how much of Common's music you've listened to before coming to your "expert" analysis.
