I would first like to thank Litfuse Group for providing a copy of this truly fantastic science fiction book. Thank you!
ABOUT THE BOOK: After his parents were killed in a car accident, Colt McAllister was drawn into a world he thought only existed in comic books-one where mind control, jet packs, and flying motorcycles don't even scratch the surface.
Along with his best friends Oz and Danielle, Colt is now training at the secret Central Headquarters Against the Occult and Supernatural academy. But strange accidents seem to follow him. . . even with the security of the school grounds. What first seems random soon turns deadly. But who is targeting Colt?
As the alien invasions increase in frequency and force, C.H.A.O.S resources are taxed to the limit and they're forced to utilize the new recruits. In the midst of battle, Colt will discover some startling revelations . . . about himself, his friendship with Oz, and why he has been chosen to defeat this alien attack against earth.
LETICIA'S REVIEW: I absolutely, positively, without a doubt LOVED this book. It was all science fiction and for someone that loves sci-fi, it was a breath of fresh air. There is mystery, suspense and of course, aliens that can be disguised as anyone. You aren't quite sure whom you could trust and you keep wondering until the very end. Also, the main character, Colt, is very likable and you cheer him on. It's a world of high-tech gear, shape-shifting aliens, simulated reality and hoverboards. It has a Star Trek kind of quality that I enjoyed immensely. I read this book in a day, if you can believe that.
One downside to the book it left it's readers in a cliff-hanger, typical of DC comic fashion. So, I anxiously will await the sequel.

There was a sci-fi detective film and spin off TV series by the name “Alienation”, years ago, a pun on Alien and Nation.
As I recall it was meant as an allegory of the social situation of refugees. Muddled but interesting.
Magpie, I remember that series, I was hooked! It was disappointing when they cancelled it, along, with Star Trek, Quantum Leap, etc. That's true about Alien and Nation, they were homeless, and water was acid to them, right?
This sounds like a great book. I love Sci-Fi also. It sounds like a book that teenagers might like also. I might order a copy for a gift.

Debbie, it was meant for teenagers, so it would be a great buy. I really enjoyed it.
Sounds a bit like harry potter.
On that note, i happened to watch a bit of it the other day and i must say the baddies sound like a bunch of pedophiles. "Bring me the boy, send the boy, i want the boy, the boy must die." The boy, the boy, on and on it went, bloody freaks.
MK, nothing like Harry Potter, totally and completely science fiction all the way. This author is a writer for DC Comics, so if you like the comics, you'll appreciate the book.
I promise, no witchcraft, ghosts, etc. Just technology, bad guys and aliens. :)
Leticia,
“and water was acid to them, right?”
Yeah I think that’s right, I had completely forgotten that detail.
Magpie, yeah, that was an interesting twist. I think that idea was kind of stolen on "Signs." I still liked the movie. I love science fiction.
This sounds cool! My husband has gotten me into sci-fi. The suspense of not knowing whether a person/alien is in disguise or not sounds really intriguing to me. Sounds like a good read.
Teresa, you will enjoy it.
