Amish book.....Beside Still Waters
I have read this awesome book and it really is fantastic. You get a pretty good idea about how the Amish live and how committed this close-knit community interacts.
You won't be disappointed. Thanks, Tricia, for another wonderful book.
There is a simplicity in the Amish life that allows the mind and the soul to be at peace. In today's world we rush around from one thing to another, eat fast food, go to work and then do it all over again the very next day. Where is the time for contemplation? For reflection? For introspection?
It is easy for a life to get out of balance in our world, but it is much harder for the soul to be troubled in the world of the Amish. That is not to say that they do not have their problems, but in their world they have the time to deal with them.

Please disregard the third paragraph of that last comment. Blame it on poor cut and paste skills :p
Karen, I know I do. It is not an easy life but they seem to do it with such grace.
William, we really could learn from their example. Hard work, their faith in God and their fellowship with each other.
I've liked the Amish ever since the movie "Witness"!
Patrick, you and me both!!! That was a great movie.
I thought it showed the Amish in a fantastic light, I admired and respected them even more after seeing the movie.
