Controversial play depicting Christ as a homosexual cancelled

A public outcry is being credited with getting a university in Texas to cancel a controversial play depicting Christ as a homosexual.


Critics say the play Corpus Christi is blasphemous. But the student at Tarleton State University in Stephenville who was directing the production said he chose it to help homosexual youths who may be struggling with their faith.

David Harris, a local preacher, was one of first to find out about the play at the school. Harris helped inform the public about the planned production through his local radio program. "We as Christians are the only advocates that Jesus Christ has," says the pastor. "And if we don't speak up for him, no one will."

Harris says when he protested to officials at Tarleton State, their initial response was that they had no choice but to protect students' First Amendment rights. The pastor questions that rationale.

"Had the play been as demeaning to one of the black leaders, or one of the Jewish leaders, or one of the leaders of Islam, they never would have allowed it to happen," he asserts. "So there is an unequal distribution of this First Amendment right."

The school eventually canceled the play, citing security reasons. But Harris says he knew of no threats -- just anger.

"Even Jesus had righteous indignation over things that were absolutely wrong and demeaning to his father," he points out. "And I don't know that it's wrong for a Christian to have righteous indignation over things that are wrong to Christianity and Christ in general."

The school says the production will not be rescheduled.

Seriously folks if this play would have depicted anyone other than Christ as a homosexual many people would be in an uproar.  Look what happens when people make cartoons of Mohammad, riots and death threats happen, yet, Christians are supposed to stand idly by while our SAVIOR is mocked and ridiculed?  I think NOT!  We are within our rights to protect and honor the name of Jesus Christ and we had better do it.

I may be a Christian who loves the Lord with all of my heart and soul but that doesn't not make me  a complacent and humble person when it comes to defending my faith, my values and most importantly my precious Lord.

I love the way Tricia Goyer helps me learn about history as she sweeps me into her intriguing stories; this one’s set in 1945 after World War II over and people are trying to pick up the pieces. I immediately care about the main characters Betty Lake, a singer for the occupied troops in Germany, and Frank Witt, a combat photographer, who meet on a plane ride to their new assignments. A sweet love develops between them and we learn that they both have a great deal of faith in God. There is also a mystery that must be solved before a tragedy occurs. I won't say anymore you will just have to read it for yourself.

I was also very fascinated by the setting of this book. I wondered if the two main places which are mentioned really existed; so I googled them and found pictures of the actual Festspielhaus in Bayreuth to my delight it is a real theater. It was built specifically for operas by composer Richard Wagner. He also constructed a home nearby called Villa Wahnfried—where the USO singers in Songbird stayed. I also learned that Hitler was inspired by Wagner's music and that must have been hard for the composer to take. I really loved this book and I hope you will take the time to read it.

Beginning of the end of the greatest healthcare system ever

More medical doctors are adding their names to the list of those outraged over the recent passage of the healthcare reform bill.


Dr. Hal Scherz, president of Docs 4 Patient Care (D4PC), tells OneNewsNow the new healthcare law makes doctors government employees.

"It gives the Secretary of Health and Human Services the mandate to put together the clinical protocols that doctors who wish to contract privately with insurance companies must adhere to," he explains. "If they don't adhere to those rules, for the first time ever in American history, it will prevent the private interaction between one group of citizens with a business."

Dr. Scherz, a pediatric urologist, predicts as a result of the new legislation, more doctors will retire while less-qualified young people will go into medicine. He believes a critical doctor shortage will ultimately force nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, and others to become the primary caregivers for Americans.

"They're all very capable and good professionals, but they are not physicians," the D4PC president contends. "People are going to have to get used to the fact that their healthcare is going to be delivered by people like that, and they may not like it, but that's what they voted for in 2008...elections have consequences."

He says it is "the beginning of the end of the greatest healthcare system that the world had ever seen."

I heard about this on AFR and I just had to find the article to it.  Believe it or not I had an argument with my MIL because she still supports Obama and is completely for the health care billm she is convinced it is the best thing for her. 

She even tried to convince me that the Republicans voted against the American having the Congress private insurance.  I researched all this and found no confirmation on this, anyone else know or have heard about it?  Or is she confused?

Israeli prime minister takes stand

I honor and praise Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for making it clear to the United States that Jerusalem is not a settlement, but the capital of Israel.

The Israeli government has recently been under fire for making it known it is moving forward with plans to build apartments for Jewish residents in east Jerusalem. The Obama administration claims the settlements will be a stumbling block to planned future negotiations with the Palestinians. But at the recent American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) gala, Netanyahu made his position very clear.

"The Jewish people were building Jerusalem 3,000 years ago, and the Jewish people are building Jerusalem today," he declared. "Jerusalem is not a settlement. It's our capital."

Precisely. The arrogance of Obama is unbelievable. Who made him president of Israel? And by what right does he have to demand that Israel cannot build homes in their own capital? This outrageous! He may have control of the US but he had better be careful messing with God's people and the land that was given to them.

Obama is clearly anti-Israel. It is quite obvious to me that he is on the side of Palestine and will go to great lengths to change the American foreign policy by opposing them. This cannot happen and we must continue to pray for Israel and Benjamin Natenyahu that they stand strong against this outrageous opposition. Obama is barking up the wrong tree if he believes he can bully Israel into giving up a part of Jerusalem.

The majority of Americans will stand strong for Israel, myself included, and we are not going to remain silent while this nonsense continues.

The debacle continues on

I seriously could have vomited this morning when I heard Obama say, "It's a victory for the common people and for common sense." Who in the hell is he talking about?! Who's common sense? His, Pelosi's or Reid's? Certainly not the majority of the American people. What an arrogant, narcissist SOB. I apologize for being so foul but that is my stance when it comes to addressing this administration.

And then he went on further and stated that he hoped the Republicans would not prohibit or stall procedure.

Okay, ready for some semi-good news? ACORN is closing its doors. Yep, no joke the once mighty activist group ACORN announced Monday it is folding amid falling revenues — six months after video footage emerged showing some of its workers giving tax tips to conservative activists posing as a pimp and prostitute.

"It's really declining revenue in the face of a series of attacks from partisan operatives and right-wing activist that have taken away our ability to raise the resources we need," ACORN spokesman Kevin Whelan said.

Several of its largest affiliates, including ACORN New York and ACORN California, broke away this year and changed their names in a bid to ditch the tarnished image of their parent organization and restore revenue that ran dry in the wake of the video scandal.

ACORN's financial situation and reputation went into free fall within days of the videos' release in September. Congress reacted by yanking ACORN's federal funding, private donors held back cash and scores of ACORN offices closed.

Earlier this month, a U.S. judge reiterated an earlier ruling that the federal law blacklisting ACORN and groups allied with it was unconstitutional because it singled them out. But that didn't mean any money would be automatically be restored.

Bertha Lewis, the CEO of ACORN, which stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, alluded to financial hardships in a weekend statement as the group's board prepared to deliberate by phone.

"ACORN has faced a series of well-orchestrated, relentless, well-funded right wing attacks that are unprecedented since the McCarthy era," she said. "The videos were a manufactured, sensational story that led to rush to judgment and an unconstitutional act by Congress."

ACORN's board decided to close remaining state affiliates and field offices by April 1 because of falling revenues, with some national operations will continue operating for at least several weeks before shutting for good, Whelan said Monday.

For years, ACORN could draw on 400,000 members to lobby for liberal causes, such as raising the minimum wage or adopting universal health care. ACORN was arguably most successful at registering hundreds of thousands of low-income voters, though that mission was dogged by fraud allegations, including that some workers submitted forms signed by 'Mickey Mouse' or other cartoon characters.

So see we can make a difference. I know things look very dim for us with this bill passing, however, if we stay unified, we can still make a difference. Vote the idiots out of office who supported this bill this coming November AND do your research on the people who are running against them before you make a final decision, learn their voting history, see where they stand on abortion, traditional marriage, military strategies, etc.

Keep calling and e-mailing the White House, senate and Congress. Don't let them think that we just tucked tail and ran. This is only an incentive to become more active.

God is bigger than Obama unbeknownst to him.

Obamacare passes...

WASHINGTON - The Democratic-controlled Congress has approved controversial health care reform legislation that Republicans have warned amounts to a dramatic take-over of health care by the federal government.

The vote in the House was 219-212.

Republicans were unanimously opposed. 34 Democrats joined with the GOP members in voting against the bill.

It now goes to President Barack Obama for his signature.

The action late Sunday capped a yearlong quest by Obama and Democrats to overhaul the system and reshape a sixth of the economy.

Republicans readily agreed the bill would affect everyone in America, but warned repeatedly of the burden imposed by more than $900 billion in tax increases and Medicare cuts combined.

"We have failed to listen to America," said Rep. John Boehner of Ohio, leader of a party that has vowed to carry the fight into the fall's midterm elections for control of Congress.

Republicans attacked the bill without let-up, warning it would harm the economy while mandating a government takeover of the health care system.

"The American people know you can't reduce health care costs by spending $1 trillion or raising taxes by more than one-half trillion dollars. The American people know that you cannot cut Medicare by over one-half trillion dollars without hurting seniors," said Rep. Dave Camp, R-Mich.

"And, the American people know that you can't create an entirely new government entitlement program without exploding spending and the deficit."

To pay for the changes, the legislation includes more than $400 billion in higher taxes over a decade, roughly half of it from a new Medicare payroll tax on individuals with incomes over $200,000 and couples over $250,000. A new excise tax on high-cost insurance policies was significantly scaled back in deference to complaints from organized labor.

In addition, the bills cut more than $500 billion from planned payments to hospitals, nursing homes, hospices and other providers that treat Medicare patients. An estimated $200 billion would reduce planned subsidies to insurance companies that offer a private alternative to traditional Medicare.

The insurance industry warned that seniors would face sharply higher premiums as a result, and the Congressional Budget Office said many would return to traditional Medicare as a result.

'Self-executing' healthcare - unconstitutional

A congressional analyst says House Democrats would be violating the Constitution if they attempt to approve the Senate healthcare bill without voting on it.

The Constitution requires that a bill has to pass both the House and Senate to become law, but House Democrats are planning to simply "deem" that the House has passed the Senate healthcare bill without members even voting on it, and then send it to President Obama to sign.

New York Democrat Louise Slaughter, who chairs the House Rules Committee, may use a "self-executing rule" to say the Senate bill is approved by the House, even without a formal up or down vote on the measure. The House would then only vote on the "reconciliation" corrections to the bill.

Brian Darling, director of Senate relations for The Heritage Foundation, reports that never in the nation's history has legislation so "monumental" been passed by the "self-executing" rule.

"If the House takes up a bill - the Senate-passed Obamacare - refuses to have a direct vote on it, yet sets up a mechanism to send it to the president and admits as much as Democratic leadership is admitting that the House members do not want to vote directly on the Senate-passed bill, that is a violation of the Constitution, the letter and the spirit," Darling contends. "It's not something that individuals should tolerate. The courts should get involved in this, hopefully."
A vote on the Senate healthcare bill could take place as early as Friday night in the House, and the congressional analyst believes if the bill does not pass this week, the Democrats' healthcare reform plan may be dead for good.

Sounds like the Nazi-regime to me, but to those who are offended by my use of this term let's try National Socialism. Either way, we have rogue Democrats who are spitting on the Constitution and American citizens. Shame we can't haul all of their conniving arses to the gallows. It's high time for a mutiny.

Tom Hanks Rewrites History

The subject is Hanks's new HBO series on World War II in the Pacific. This is how the Time story ends:

He doesn't see the series as simply eye-opening history. He hopes it offers Americans a chance to ponder the sacrifices of our current soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"From the outset, we wanted to make people wonder how our troops can re-enter society in the first place," Hanks says. "How could they just pick up their lives and get on with the rest of us? Back in World War II, we viewed the Japanese as 'yellow, slant-eyed dogs' that believed in different gods.

They were out to kill us because our way of living was different. We, in turn, wanted to annihilate them because they were different. Does that sound familiar, by any chance, to what's going on today?"

The Pacific war was mainly fought by isolated groups of men and was overlaid by a sense that our foes were fundamentally different from us. “But we also wanted to have people say, ‘We didn’t know our troops did that to Japanese people.’”…

So here we go again, a once respected actor whom I believed was intelligent proved me wrong with his bloviating, slanderous and painfully ignorant statement. This is a GREAT disrespect to our veterans then and now.

Gee...and all this time I thought that Japan attacked us first? Thank goodness, that most intelligent Americans are fully cognitive of what transpired at Pearl Harbor. We had no other alternative but to retaliate. We had to act quickly in order stop their conquest for world domination, right?

I really thought this man was a patriot and a huge supporter of our WWII veterans and all military personnel. I was wrong. It boils down to one thing....a millionaire actor who was just being directed and guided to superbly portray American soldiers in action. It is all about the almighty dollar and nothing more. It is exploitation of our fallen heroes and I will not support or watch anymore Tom Hank movies.

What a great shame.

Salt could be illegal in New York

ALBANY -- A bill introduced in the New York State Assembly late last week would ban restaurants from using salt during food preparation.

The proposal, penned by Brooklyn Assemblyman Felix Ortiz, would make illegal using salt, in any form, “in the preparation of any food for consumption by customers of such restaurant, including food prepared to be consumed on the premises of such restaurant or off of such premises,” the bill states.

The penalty for breaking the law would be up to $1,000 for each time salt is used.

Ortiz told CBS 6 the salt ban proposal is just one component of a healthy-living plan he’s been working on for years. He said you obviously need sodium to make food, but there is excessive sodium in the food that gets prepared in restaurants now.

He said his proposal is all about giving people a choice that they don’t have now. Essentially, you can choose to have the extra salt by adding it yourself.

Ortiz has a history of laws he admits feature a differing opinion or different perspective (see some selected proposals at the bottom of the article). He said they spark debate.

“Today’s the first day of conversation,” he said. “This is a can opener.”

Ortiz said he’s heard mention of the bill on five different national talk shows and each brought in a doctor who had a different opinion, but agreed on one thing.

“If we lower consumption of sodium, we will lower the problems of death and cardiovascular disease in New York State,” Ortiz said.

He said he sees this proposal as a way to get questions answered, get people motivated and to get people educated about living a healthy lifestyle.

His reasons are also personal. His father -- who was suffering from hypertension -- had a mild heart attack and stroke. Doctors told his father to reduce his sodium intake.

There’s also an economic impact of high cholesterol, he points out, from the expenses to pay for health care.

Whether the bill goes anywhere, Ortiz said, he believes he’s made a difference.

“This is about saving lives,” he said.

Can anyone say, "idiot?" Now this is what I am talking about how insane the liberals are. Not only are they trying to cram the healthcare bill down our throats, we would have to comply with all the asinine regulations that go along with it. So salt will be illegal, and butter, caffeine, the list could go on and on, because many foods have been linked to some type of illness or another.

Does anyone remember the movie the Demolition Man? And how everything not good for you was illegal, which also included procreation, kissing, profanity, I think I made my point.

Is this the type of society you want to live in? Where everything you do is studied, critiqued and examined, basically your entire life would be under a microscope? I sure don't.

Obamacare will be voted on March 18.

Time is running out for Congress and they really need to act now before it is too late. President Obama has dictated there will be a vote by March 18th on the healthcare bill.

And of course, we have puppet Speaker Pelosi telling Americans to support this debacle of a healthcare plan even though many of us have told this administration we do NOT support it and DO NOT want it. She then tells us that we will find out what is in this plan AFTER it is has been passed!! Like hell we will.

And to top things off Obama and Reid address the public stating that there is a plan to "fix" it! Or rather Obama has this plan. And we, the public should just trust them?!! Are they insane? Does their arrogance and deception have no boundaries?! Talk about condescending.

And furthermore, do they honestly believe that the American people will blindly follow them and acquiesce to this atrocity?! I think they are under a severe and erroneous impression that we do. This has been the worst and most deceptive administration in history, in my opinion. They have proven time and time again that they are and incapable of speaking the truth. We have not forgotten that they devised this vile plan behind closed door in subtefuge. We'd be fools to trust them now. They do not deserve it nor have earned it. Quite frankly they never will.

Socialism at its finest, make a note of it.

Sons of Thunder blog tour

This is an awesome romantic/suspense novel. The first of a new series. It is uniquely written - its an epic suspense story written as three novellas - 3 points of view, 3 settings.

Susan May Warren truly out did herself in this compelling novel. What can I say? It is one of the best books she has ever written. I was captivated by the characters. There were some parts in the book which I found a bit risqué for a Christian novel, but then it all came into place of why it was written in and made perfect sense and brought the story together. There are some surprising aspects of the book which involved famous mob bosses, flappers, and of course, WWII. I enjoyed learning a little about the Greeks and how they struggled as immigrants coming to the states.

Wow! I'm in Shock, and this from a Democrat???!

Congress should take a pay cut, and why not? Most of their erroneous decisions has placed this nation into a multi-generational debt. They should feel the pinch like every working American has. Don't even get me started on gas prices.

Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., last week introduced a bill to cut pay for members of Congress by 5 percent. She said it hasn't made her the most popular person in the House of Representatives, but it's starting to gain bipartisan support. I believe it should be at least 10 or 15%. And why stop with Congress, nail the senators as well. The pay cuts should start with the highest paid member.

"I'll tell you, there is nothing like asking the people you work with to take a cut in pay and see the concern on their faces," Kirkpatrick told Fox News on Monday.

The first-term congresswoman said she's hopeful, given the enormous fiscal challenges facing the country, the measure can pass. She said she's already started handing over 5 percent of her pay every month -- or $870 -- to help chisel away at the national debt. The monthly payment would have been less, but Kirkpatrick is, according to her office, paying extra to make up for the two months of 2010 she missed.

"I'm putting my money where my mouth is. I'm leading by example and I hope my colleagues will join me," she said.

The current salary for a member of Congress is $174,000. Leaders earn more and should also experience the pay cuts.

Kirkpatrick's office estimates the proposal, which if passed would take effect at the beginning of 2011, would save $4.66 million a year. However, that amount is worth pennies if you compare it to the $12.5 trillion dollar debt, not to be harsh, I applaud her for her effort and that is as far as my compliment goes. She has not impressed me. Why? Because she along with her Democratic cohorts supported the $1 trillion healthcare bill.

"The last time Congress took a cut in pay was 77 years ago. I don't know anyone who has not had a pay cut in 77 years," she said.

So far, 21 lawmakers -- Democrats and Republicans -- have signed on as co-sponsors. It's being considered by two House committees.

I won't hold my breath on this bill, the cutthroats in office wouldn't dream of losing one penny of their wealth to help a depleted and bankrupt nation, even though they live in it.

New York, NY, March 1, 2010 … Louis Farrakhan, the racist and anti-Semitic leader of the Nation of Islam, used his annual address to spew more of his anti-Semitic and racist accusations stating that "Zionists" control Congress and that the "white right" was attempting to set up the assassination of President Barack Obama.

Farrakhan's speech was tolerated or rather acknowledged by an audience of an estimated 20,000 blind followers, which completely shocked me, he spoke at The United Center in Chicago, Ill. on February 28th:

He claimed the "white right" was trying to assassinate President Obama. "The white right is trying to set Barack up to be assassinated." He added: "There are Christians praying for God to kill Obama."

For nearly 30 years, Farrakhan, 76, has marked himself a notable figure on the extremist scene by making hateful statements targeting Jews, whites and homosexuals. And yet we are supposed to believe that Islam is a peaceful, loving religion. Farrakhan represents Islam in its truest form and no one should doubt that his devoted followers will follow by example.

As long as he is not a Christian or Jew, he is allowed and obviously welcomed to spread hate and lies against anyone that is not Muslim. Nice....

NCAA squashes pro-family message - the censorship of Christians continues

The ad to the left features a father holding his young son and saying, "All I want for my son is for him to grow up knowing how to do the right thing."

The tag line: "Celebrate Family. Celebrate Life."

This Focus on the Family ad, believe it or not, has been yanked off the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) website for one simple reason: Focus on the Family supports natural marriage, believing that marriage is the union of one man and one woman.

The NCAA, who apparently believes only in selective diversity - "Christians need not apply" - has censored this ad after homosexual activists complained.

Look at the message again. By scrubbing this ad, is the NCAA saying we want our sons to grow up knowing how to do the wrong thing? With the number of NCAA athletes who get in trouble with the law every week, you'd think the NCAA would enthusiastically support a message which urges fathers to be great role models for their sons and athletes-to-be.

Are NCAA officials saying that they celebrate divorce rather than intact families? That they celebrate death instead of life? That they don't want fathers to be involved with their sons? What is remotely objectionable about the message in this ad?

NCAA officials even went so far as to say that even if the message was okay, they'd have to spike it because of the messenger.

In other words, the NCAA is telling America that it has no room in its view of diversity for voices of faith and family.

I am not surprised by this at all, it seems that almost every organization is embracing the homosexual agenda and their vile lifestyle. Who cares that it has horrid ramifcations to our youth that it undermines traditional marriage and unfortunately most of those relationships can result in incurable diseases, however, that is also the case for those who embrace lose promiscious lifestyles.

Here is a postive message and the liberals want to tear it to shreds. What is wrong with a child being held by his daddy? Family is the foundation of this world. God created marriage and this is more than likey why liberals HATE marriage, because if is of God Almighty.

Let the NCAA know that you oppose its lack of diversity and its exclusion of people of faith.
