Lost Mission Blog Tour

I must admit I normally don't read this type of book. So it was a intriguing to say the least. It has a good story line and it keeps you on your toes. The story weaves plotlines together across several centuries with contemporary plotlines that interweave. I must admit, though, it was a bit confusing the way Mr. Dickson transitioned between time periods, however, I
eventually got the hang of it.

About the book:

What haunting legacy awaits deep beneath the barrios and wealthy enclaves of Southern California?

A billionaire driven mad by grief.

A pastor in love with the wrong woman.

An illegal immigrant desperate to feed his family.

Only Lupe de la Garza can save them from the ancient evil lurking in a lost mission's ruins, but it will take an act of faith beyond all human power.

An idyllic Spanish mission collapses in the eighteenth century atop the supernatural evidence of a shocking crime. Twelve generations later the ground is opened up, the forgotten ruins are disturbed, and rich and poor alike confront the onslaught of resurging hell on earth. Caught up in the catastrophe are...
· A humble shopkeeper compelled to leave her tiny village deep in Mexico to preach in America
· A minister wracked with guilt for loving the wrong woman
· An unimaginably wealthy man, blinded to the consequences of his grand plans
· A devoted father and husband driven to a horrible discovery that changes everything

Will the evil that destroyed the MisiĆ³n de Santa Dolores rise to overwhelm them? Or will they beat back the terrible desires that led to the mission's good Franciscan founder's standing in the midst of flames ignited by his enemies and friends alike more than two centuries ago?

From the high Sierra Madre mountains to the harsh Sonoran desert, from the privileged world of millionaire moguls to the impoverished immigrants who serve them, Athol Dickson once again weaves a gripping story of suspense that spans centuries and cultures to explore the abiding possibility of miracles.

About the author:
Athol Dickson is an award-winning author of several novels. His Christy Award-winning novel River Rising was name one of the "Top Ten Christian Novel of 2006" by Booklist magazine. He lives in California with his wife. Find out more about Athol and his books by visiting his website.

NY congressional race - the 'perfect storm'

A political analyst says a special election in northern New York Tuesday could be one of the most important congressional races ever, and may even lead to a split in the Republican Party.

A poll released by the Club for Growth yesterday shows Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman with a narrow lead in the special election in New York's 23rd congressional district to replace John McHugh, the former congressman who recently became Secretary of the Army.

The poll of 300 likely voters shows Hoffman at 31 percent, Democrat Bill Owens at 27 percent, Republican Dede Scozzafava at 20 percent, while 22 percent remain undecided. Hoffman has won the endorsements of Republican Party heavyweights such as Sarah Palin, Tim Pawlenty, and Fred Thompson, while Scozzafava is being backed by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and House GOP leaders like Minority Leader John Boehner and Eric Cantor. The GOP candidate has also received awards and thousands of campaign dollars from some of the country's leading pro-abortion activists (see below).

David Corbin, assistant professor of politics at The King's College in New York City, says he is not surprised by Hoffman's surging poll numbers because "American politics is ready for a perfect storm."

"I don't think any of us expected that the perfect storm would occur in northern New York, but the conditions were right for an election like this. The way the country is moving in terms of the Obama administration, the reaction to that movement from conservative groups across the country, and the lack of a Republican response to the Obama administration -- I think all of those things together point to something like this happening."

Corbin contends that for years, Republican leaders have been convinced that "it's better to be an echo than a choice." He says Republican leaders in New York state who chose Dede Scozzafava are "trying not to lose an election" instead of "trying to win an election."

Scozzafava's pro-abortion supporters
The Republican National Committee earlier this month made a six-figure transfer to the New York Republican Party to help GOP candidate DeDe Scozzafava in her bid for the state's 23rd Congressional seat. According to Congressional Quarterly, the RNC is also giving $85,000 to the state party, the maximum allowed for a coordinated campaign, and has two staffers on the ground in the district.

Many conservatives have expressed outrage over the Republican Party's endorsement of a candidate who supports abortion and same-sex "marriage," and who has backed President Obama's "stimulus" package and the $700-billion bank bailout.

In March 2008, Scozzafava, who has served on the board of Planned Parenthood, received the Margaret Sanger Award from Family Planning Advocates of New York State. In her acceptance speech, she voiced support for abortion on demand.

"The only way we ever cure those things of the human condition is by listening to people. And each person is an individual with his or her own rights. And when you look at it that way, a lot of issues become very simple -- issues that are seemingly complex become simple."

Scozzafava has received $1,000 from the Planned Parenthood PAC and $2,500 from the New York Choice PAC. She has also been given donations by several labor unions, including the National Education Association's political action committee, which doled out $5,000 for her campaign.

"Apparently Republicans have not learned a darned thing or don't care about the atrocities being shoved down our throats by our liberal oppressors. So they decide to support Scozzafava an outspoken supporter of abortion and homosexual marriage. Why on earth do they want more liberals ruining our nation? And WHY is the RNC backing her and Crist? Instead of Hoffman and Rubin?

Where is the backbone??? I am outraged by this and I hope that many people will support Hoffman.

We need to have strong conservatives in the GOP, period. We need balance.

I will NOT support the GOP if this is the direction they intend to go. Liberalism does NOT work and has proven to be fatal to our nation's morality and sovereignty."

White House likes news reported its way

A conservative media watchdog says it has become increasingly apparent that the only legitimate media coverage -- according to the Obama administration -- is news that praises the president.

Last week the Obama administration attempted to isolate and exclude the Fox News Channel by telling the White House media pool that it would make "pay czar" Kenneth Feinberg available for interviews to every member except Fox News. But according to Fox News, the Washington bureau chiefs of the five TV networks consulted and decided that none of their reporters would interview Feinberg unless Fox was included.

The administration eventually relented, making Feinberg available for all five pool members and Bloomberg TV. Tim Graham, director of media analysis at the Media Research Center, is pleased to see some backbone in the media.

"I think even some journalists now have started suggesting that it's a bad idea for the Obama people to try to make Fox unpopular and try to say Fox isn't a legitimate news channel," he observes.

According to the media watchdog, the administration is being more than a bit hypocritical.

"You know, there's just nothing funnier than an Obama administration official coming out and saying things like [Fox News is] not a news channel because they come with a perspective," says Graham.

"We've just been through two years of the news people portraying Obama with a heavenly aura around his head -- and they're saying we don't like news with perspective? The Obama administration is insisting that news is defined by praising the president."

Graham says he agrees with a recent assessment by Fox's Brit Hume, who suggested that the White House is trying to "quarantine" Fox so other media outlets might be discouraged from picking up on stories that Fox originates.

Well, what do you know the MSM has a backbone afterall and not completely in hero worship of the Obama administration. I only trust AFR (OneNewsNow), and Fox News to report unbiased news.
Nice try BHO. Whine somewhere else.

Swiss Courier blog tour

My gosh! Where to even begin to describe this fantastic, awesome, powerful book. If you are a WWII fan this is one of the best books to read. I cannot even begin to articulate the thrill ride.

At first, I had to try and keep track of all the characters and swing to the front to make sure who I was reading about, I must thank Tricia Goyer and Mike Yorky for supplying that for the readers, it came in handy.

The entire book is about a young woman who becomes a spy. She risks her life to help the cause against Hitler. This book had me on the edge of my seat so much suspense. Many little surprises on the way. I cannot divulge too much on this or I would spoil the book. It is a definite must read. I learned a lot of history and some truly heinous acts of the Gestapo. How wicked those vile people were. In one area I burst out loud and said, "NO!" It cannot be Father!?

I want to personally thank LitFuse, for providing a copy of Swiss Courier for me to review. I cannot thank them enough for the wonderful opportunity given to me.

ABOUT THE BOOK: It is August 1944 and the Gestapo is mercilessly rounding up suspected enemies of the Third Reich. When Joseph Engel, a German physicist working on the atomic bomb, finds that he is actually a Jew, adopted by Christian parents, he must flee for his life to neutral Switzerland. Gabi Mueller is a young Swiss-American woman working for the newly formed American Office of Strategic Services (the forerunner to the CIA) close to Nazi Germany. When she is asked to risk her life to safely "courier" Engel out of Germany, the fate of the world rests in her hands. If she can lead him to safety, she can keep the Germans from developing nuclear capabilities. But in a time of traitors and uncertainty, whom can she trust along the way? This fast-paced, suspenseful novel takes readers along treacherous twists and turns during a fascinating--and deadly--time in history.

About author: Tricia Goyer is the author of several books, including Night Song and Dawn of a Thousand Nights, both past winners of the ACFW's Book of the Year Award for Long Historical Romance. Goyer lives with her family in Montana. To find out more visit her website:

Harvey Milk Gay Day now the law has launched a new drive to protest a pro-homosexual bill recently signed into law.

Harvey Milk Gay Day" has been signed by Arnold Schwarzenegger for California government schools, and a handful of sexual indoctrination laws already existing that are in effect throughout the entire school year

California is also among the lowest academically in the country. On the sexual indoctrination chart, California leads the pack with Massachusetts following. Which is not at all surprising. That is nothing to write home about.

Given these statistics, the West Coast pro-family, pro-child organization, all concerned parents, Christian or not should get involved and trying to boycott this bill that was passed. It is demented, immoral and no student should have to be forced or coerced into understanding homosexuals deviant behavior. I am truly hopeful that many people are going to rise up and put an end to this atrocity.

A little history about Harvery Milk, 1) Harvey Milk was a sexual predator of teenagers 2) Milk advocated having multiple sexual relationships at the same time 3) Milk promoted lying to get ahead.

So in a nutshell, this man was immoral, reckless in his sexual escapades, a pedophile, and a liar. And this is what California wants to promote as a role model???!

I knew we lived in a sick and twisted world, but this is ridiculous! I am truly at a loss for words.

I wish that there was a way for churches to open up Christian schools and let them be free or have very, very small tuition fees. Parents need an option.

Conservatives vs Leftists on Liberty

If a conservative doesn’t like guns, he doesn’t buy one.

If a liberal doesn’t like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn’t eat meat.

If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy.

A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.

If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a black man or Hispanic are conservative, they see themselves as independently successful.

Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.

A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.

Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.

A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced… (Unless it’s a foreign religion, of course!)

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.

A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a conservative slips and falls in a store, he gets up, laughs and is embarrassed.

If a liberal slips and falls, he grabs his neck, moans like he’s in labor and then sues.

If a conservative reads this, he’ll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.

A liberal will delete it because he’s “offended”.

Remove Kevin Jennings (gay advocate) as "Safe School Czar"

Yet another controversial Obama-administration appointee—Kevin Jennings—is in the national spotlight. Much has been made about Jennings' troubling actions and statements in the past. However, parents don't need to look that far back to understand the radical policies that Jennings would like to enact today in our nation's public schools.

They need only examine his 17-year track record as the founder and leader of the nation's largest advocacy group devoted to promoting homosexuality to school children—GLSEN, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network.

Under Jennings' leadership, GLSEN created a list of books that it recommends for use in public schools.

Also under Jennings' direction, GLSEN has used the "safe school" mantra to push a one-sided agenda into schools that has no tolerance for socially conservative and Christian viewpoints—and that promotes gender confusion. GLSEN has promoted lesson plans and student activities that also reflect this bias.

Firestorm Erupts over Obama's Education Appointee

Protect children and prevent Jennings from using a taxpayer-funded government office to push homosexual advocacy into public schools.

This should have every single parent worried and ready to do battle against this guy. We should all be very concerned about
the harmful and radical policies he could enact today that would negatively impact and corrupt all schoolchildren."

Under the quise of "safe schools," GLSEN promotes classroom activities that not only give biased portrayals of Christian and socially conservative viewpoints, but also turn students towards extreme left causes.

GLSEN has suggested to students to request for a "queer-friendly prom" and to "launch a ampaign to create a gender-neutral, all-genders or multi-gendered bathroom at their school." Jennings has stated that he used the term "safety" as a "calling card" to open the door. This guy is demented and vile.

This is very frightening to parents and students of faith who expect government-funded schools to remain neutral and respectful regarding and viewpoints. We have someone in charge of the 'safe schools' office with a track record of twisting "'safety" into a political activism arena. And now he has the funds to further his dispicable agenda. Thanks Obama the Terrible.

I heard that Obama the Terrible has given $7.5 billion dollars to aid Pakistan in their economy!!

There will be no cost of living increase for more than 50 million Social Security recipients next year, the first year without a raise since automatic adjustments were adopted in 1975, the government announced Thursday.

Blame falling consumer prices. By law, cost of living adjustments are pegged to inflation, which is negative this year because of lower energy costs. Social Security payments do not go down, even when prices drop.

The Obama administration, meanwhile, is pursuing a different way to boost recipients' income. On Wednesday, President Barack Obama called for a second round of $250 stimulus payments for seniors, veterans, retired railroad workers and people with disabilities. Yeah, like that is going to help."

'Tea parties' pushing back against amnesty

A grassroots immigration enforcement advocacy organization is calling on concerned Americans to take part in "Tea Party" events next month to protest efforts by Congress to pass amnesty legislation for millions of illegal immigrants.

At an open borders rally Tuesday on the West Lawn of the Capitol, Congressman Luis Gutierrez (D-Illinois) outlined a massive amnesty bill that ties together several measures already introduced during the 111th Congress, and would ultimately give amnesty -- a "pathway to legalization," he calls it -- to millions of who are in the country illegally. Gutierrez, a member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, intends to introduce the actual legislation before the end of October.

William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), contends Gutierrez's plan would be detrimental to the U.S. and its citizens.

"They're saying they're about to file legislation to grant an amnesty to over 15-million illegal aliens," he laments, "which would turn them into direct legal competitors with Americans for jobs, direct legal competitors with Americans for hospital beds and school spots and financial aid -- and a new voting bloc that would pretty much destroy America's ability to govern itself from this point forward."

The ALIPAC leader sees the amnesty legislation as part of the agenda of the White House. "It's what Obama wants to accomplish," he says, "and if we the people don't stand up and speak out and do something historic, they're going to get away with it."

Gheen is urging those who are opposed to amnesty to take part in "Tea Parties Against Amnesty and Illegal Immigration" events across the country slated for November 14.

"Somehow I am not sure if the TEA Parties are worth the effort. Congress and the Senate and of course the fake "annointed one" refuse to hear us and to compromise. They do not care what we have to say or even if they will be voted out of office in 2010 and 2012. They are going to do as much damage as they possibly can RIGHT NOW.

I will still attend the TEA Party here in my town, and I will be praying, and haven't stopped praying for God Almighty to intervene. Obama is not God, even though some believe he is, including himself. And he is not in control. God can work in their hearts through the power of prayer and the work of the Holy Ghost." I will not give up hope. I can't. The future of my children are at stake and the state of Israel."

Christian Convert Teen Must Go Back to Ohio, Judge Rules

A 17-year old girl who fled from her home, fearing her Muslim parents would kill her for converting to Christianity, must go back to Ohio, a Florida judge ruled Tuesday.

Judge Daniel Dawson ruled Ohio has jurisdiction over the case involving the teen, Rifqa Bary.

Before the girl gets sent back, the judge says he needs immigration papers proving her status in the U.S. and proof from the state of Florida that she can continue her virtual schooling and receive credit in Ohio.

She is expected to be placed in foster care when she returns and will also be provided with psychiatric evaluations. Her parents will also receive psychiatric evaluations.

Rifqa can be back in Ohio as early as this week, or by an Oct. 23 follow-up hearing.

Rifqa fled to Florida after her parents, Mohamed and Aysha Bary, learned that she was baptized earlier this year without their knowledge. The parents reported her missing to Columbus, Ohio, Police on July 19. Weeks later, using cell phone and computer records, police tracked the girl to the Rev. Blake Lorenz, pastor of the Orlando-based Global Revolution Church.

In an emotional six-minute interview with WFTV in Florida, Rifqa, who met Lorenz through an online Facebook group, said she expects to be killed if she is forced to return to Ohio.

"If I had stayed in Ohio, I wouldn't be alive," she said. "In 150 generations in family, no one has known Jesus. I am the first — imagine the honor in killing me."

But a Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigation found no credible threats to Bary.

Contacted by, Rifqa'a father Mohamed Bary said he has no intentions of harming his daughter.

"I love my daughter and I want her to come back to the family," he said, declining further comment.

The Barys reportedly emigrated from Sri Lanka in 2000 to seek medical treatment for Rifqa, who lost the sight in her right eye following an accident at home.

Because of the ignorance of our justice system, this judge
just sentenced an innocent girl to her death. She is going to come up
missing or worse. God protect her.

And the hypocrisy of the judge demanding her legal right
to be here in the states??!! WTH! There a millions of illegals running
around and no one questions why they are here or demand to see "their
papers" yet this young Christian girl, has to prove her legal rights. What
a screwed up judicial system. It is completely inane.

President taps lesbian activist to EEOC

President Barack Obama continues to deliver on his promises to the homosexual activist community.

The president has nominated Chai Feldblum, a lesbian activist, to be commissioner for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Her appointment is awaiting Senate confirmation.

Feldblum, a law professor at Georgetown University, has signed an online petition titled, "Beyond Same-Sex Marriage: A New Strategic Vision for All Our Families and Relationships." That petition chides conservatives for opposing same-sex "marriage" and also calls for a "new vision" for achieving recognition from the government and private sector for diverse kinds of partnerships.

"Chai Feldblum is on record saying that the battle between our religious freedoms and homosexual so-called rights is a zero sum game," says Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth about Homosexuality.

"She says she can't think of a case where the religious rights -- in other words, our moral right to oppose homosexuality, our First Amendment freedom -- trump their gay rights. So, effectively, Chai Feldblum is for superior rights for homosexuals, and I think that's very dangerous for our country."

Now this is very bad news for any working heterosexual. Before we know it, heterosexuals are going to be the ones that will be petitioning for equal rights and will be ignored.

It is so difficult not to despise the man who is running our nation. He is a lousy excuse for a president and I wish to God Almighty he would somehow get impeached or forced to resign. One can only hope. The damage he has caused this nation in just the few months he has held in office is astronomical.

I DO NOT want the gay agenda being shoved down my throat. It is a vile and dispicable lifestyle and in no way will I EVER acknowledge that it is "normal." I don't give a rats-rear-end who is in office or making all of these decisions. He does not have any right in any manner to force these atrocities on the American people. Furthermore, the majority of this nation believes in TRADITIONAL marriage regardless of how much BHO wants to push the alternative lifestyle on us.

We answer to GOD, not Obama, regardless of what some people may think or believe. And we know the truth and that is all that matters.

Hat tip: Amy Proctor.

Obama's own words:
There are still fellow citizens, perhaps neighbors, even loved ones — good and
decent people — who hold fast to outworn arguments and old attitudes; who fail
to see your families like their families; who would deny you the rights most
Americans take for granted.

… it’s not for me to tell you to be patient,
any more than it was for others to counsel patience to African Americans
petitioning for equal rights half a century ago.

You will see a time in
which we as a nation finally recognize relationships between two men or two
women as just as real and admirable as relationships between a man and a woman.

We are moving ahead on Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. Legislation has been
introduced in the House to make this happen. I will end Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.
That’s my commitment to you.

I’ve called on Congress to repeal the
so-called Defense of Marriage Act and to pass the Domestic Partners Benefits and
Obligations Act. And we must all stand together against divisive and deceptive
efforts to feed people’s lingering fears for political and ideological gain.

That’s the story of America: of ordinary citizens organizing, agitating
and advocating for change; of hope stronger than hate; of love more powerful
than any insult or injury; of Americans fighting to build for themselves and
their families a nation in which no one is a second-class citizen, in which no
one is denied their basic rights, in which all of us are free to live and love
as we see fit.

Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize

Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize and for what? No one is exactly sure why, except he blows a lot of hot air about wanting peace. But he hasn't exactly done anything tangible to achieve peace to deserve this coveted prize? Apparently the NPP panel want to embrace an anti-American, incompetent, inexperienced, socialist president, whom in my opinion, is the worst president in American history.

The U.S. is still at war with Iraq and Afghanistan, no change there. Congress has not passed any kind of law that reduces carbon emission, and there has been little or or no reduction in global nuclear stockpiles, umm...we all know about Iraq right? And lest we forget, the man believes in genocide and infanticide. Sure that deserves 1.7 million dollars. *rolls eyes*

According to Nobel (aka , the Peace Prize) should be awarded "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses" So, where does this leave Obama?

And Obama shares this once prestigious award with no other than Yasser Arafat. The Nobel Peace Prize is a thoroughly discredited politically-correct, socialist propaganda.

Past nominees: Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and Cuban leader Fidel Castro. Dictators Benito Mussolini, Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin. So why not add a Barack Hussein Obama to the list?

Also Nobel Peace Laureate, Obama, has just refused to meet last year's Nobel Peace Laureate, the Dalai Lama. Hmmm...makes you think doesn't it? Not that I am a fan of the Dalai Lama, but that is a major insult. A major slap in the face.

This was rather interesting... the deadline for submitting nominees to the committe was Feb 1 - less than two weeks after BHO's inauguration. A bit peculiar if you ask me.

What does BHO have to say? “To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who’ve been honored by this prize, men and women who’ve inspired me and inspired the entire world through their courageous pursuit of peace.”

But, he said, he would accept the Nobel Peace Prize “as a call to action, a call for all nations to confront the common challenges of the 21st century.”

Did anyone really believe he would turn it down? Not that self-absorbed narcissist, he probably believes he deserves it. And of course, he is going to waste and use more taxpayer money to fly to Norway to accept the prize.

Obama's HRC appearance will 'alienate' Americans

The president of an organization dedicated to exposing the homosexual activist agenda believes President Barack Obama will alienate many Americans when he speaks this weekend at a meeting of the largest homosexual-rights group in the nation.

On Saturday night, Obama will deliver the keynote address at the 13th annual National Dinner in Washington, DC -- an annual event organized by the Human Rights Campaign, the largest homosexual activist group in the United States.

Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, says it is clear President Obama is trying to appease homosexual activists, many of whom have been vocal about their disappointment with the chief executive.

"The problem with having the homosexual lobby as an ally is that they're very loud and obnoxious -- and if they don't get their way immediately, they start carping and complaining," says LaBarbera.

"That's what they've been doing -- they're saying Obama is not moving fast enough," he continues. "But the further and faster Obama moves on the gay agenda, the more he will alienate mainstream and middle-of-the-road Americans."

LaBarbera points out that HRC has "Bible studies" online that claim homosexuality is not sinful. Among those studies is one HRC says is designed to train individuals to "move people of faith and congregations from acceptance to public advocacy."

I don't even think I need to comment on this. It is very apparent to all Christians and TEA Party demonstrators that this president doesn't give a rats-rear-end about anyone who is not some left-wing nut job. The rest of us could go to hell as far as he is concerned.

Community cheers cheerleaders for Jesus

Friday night highschool football in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia took a backseat to a battle of another sort in the bleachers and on the sidelines.

Since 9-11 the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warrior's cheerleaders have been using scripture verses on the banners that the football team bursts through at the beginning of each game. However, that tradition has been banned by school authorities who fear a hefty lawsuit if they allow the practice to continue. Officials nixed the banners after receiving a complaint from one individual who claims she was offended by the verses. (cheerleaders perform for local news video)

In a surprising turn of events, community members have showed their overwhelming support for the cheerleaders who have since become media celebrities. A local youth pastor, Brad Scott, started a facebook page in their support and organized a rally at a local Chick-fil-a. That rally had to be moved when more than 1,100 supporters showed up. Now in another overwhelming show of support, members of the community showed up to Friday nights football game to cheer the cheerleaders.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe highschool says they have sold the most tickets ever to Friday night's game. All throughout the bleachers people sported homemade signs with scripture verses and t-shirts emblazened with the school logo and the words "Warriors for Christ." A few enthusiatic male students even painted their shirtless torsos with the school's colors and a scripture verse. (see raw video footage here)

Jay Spokes brought his entire family out for the event and all were waving homemade cardboard signs that read, "I love Jesus," "Warriors for Christ," and "I am not ashamed of the gospel."

"I think the superintendent reacted a little prematurely in banning the signs, I think it was a knee jerk reaction. They were fearful of a lawsuit and I can understand that," he explained to OneNewsNow. But he adds, "[T]hey should research the laws better and actually put it to person's complaint shouldn't stop the whole communities thought process."

Spokes also attended the rally earlier in the week and has voiced his opinion on the issue to the school board. Lisa Curtis is the Varsity cheerleading coach at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe highschool. She told OneNewsNow that she was grateful for the support of the community and adds that she was "dumb-founded" when she was told her girls could no longer use the scripture verse banners.

"It just amazes me what kind of impact our little Bible verse signs have had on the community...the girls just want to thank everyone who has supported them this week," she continues. "We are getting messages from all over the country and we just want to thank you all."

Many school employees donned scripture verse t-shirts as well Friday night. The football coaches also sported the shirts and just before the game began the football team prayed on the field and closed that prayer with "in Jesus' name." Another rally is planned for Tuesday night's school board meeting.

So it was one ignorant bigot that was offended. Big deal, if you don't like the banners don't look at them or stay home. Why should one person's opinion hold so much clout.

It was wonderful to see how the whole community came together to shut that woman up. I even heard on the news this morning that she doesn't even have a kid attending the school. Sounds to me that she needs to get a life and leave those that have one alone.

I do understand where the school is coming from, they didn't want to deal with a lawsuit, and loss of funds. There has to be a way for the cheerleaders to be able to put those bible verses back on the banners.

I am thrilled to see so many Christians standing up to anti-Christ protestors. They stood up for Christ and that is just fantastic!

Obamas' Olympic Bid for Chicago Fails

Obama and his wife Michelle along with Oprah Winfrey's efforts to land the 2016 Olympics for Chicago have failed: The city was eliminated in the first round of voting to determine where the Summer Games will be held. On Friday it was announced that Rio de Janeiro – long thought to be the front-runner – would host the Olympics, the first time any city in South America got the Games. The President and his wife had both lobbied Olympic leaders in Copenhagen to give the global event to their hometown. "I urge you to choose Chicago," the President told members of the International Olympic Committee. "And if you do – if we walk this path together – then I promise you this: The city of Chicago and the United States of America will make the world proud."

Let me get this straight, in Afghanistan, more American service members died in August than in any month since the war began. His top military commander says that without more troops, we run the risk of losing the war. Iran admits operating a second previously undisclosed nuclear facility. Unemployment stands at 9.7 percent. And what does our dear old president do?? He and his wife and a talk show host fly to Copenhagen to beg for the Olympics to be held in Chicago. What is wrong with this picture?

The only reason he wanted the Olympics held in Chicago was to put some money in his pockets along with his cronies.

I feel the loss for the United States, but I am rejoicing over the fact that the panel of leaders for the Olympics were not charmed or fell under the great Obama spell. Not everyone is a fan and I am very content with that.
